Can't Stop This Train

Y/N's smile was brighter than it ever has been in the past few months. Lauren was next to her, Emeli was across the table and James was next to her. Y/N observed the way Emeli's eyes shined every single time they locked on her boyfriends. It was adorable. The two were so unbelievably in love and were finally setting down the date for their wedding. They knew Franki wouldn't want them to hold it back just because of his unfortunate death. He wouldn't want his best friends happiness to stop on his account.

They were all in the studio listening for the last time to Franki's old recordings. The album was going to be released tomorrow and they were excited as hell. It was early as hell in the morning, but they were all wide awake and stoked for the events that tomorrow held. James had been kind of a-wal lately due to music videos being made, but he had cleared his schedule to spend the week with his fiancé. He usually did that once a month. He'd be busy as fuck until the end of the month. He'd pack three weeks of work that made him stay up until 6 a.m. just so that he could have one full week without phone calls from work or interruptions, so he could spend quality time with the love of his life, Emeli.

"My favorite is probably Cheating On Me." James commented. "I remember Em's and I went through this little break and that's exactly how I felt. I spent so much time with work that I made her feel like I didn't care." He looked at Emeli and squeezed her hand, "I'll never do that again, love. I'll always make time for you. You're my first priority."

Emeli nodded, smiling happily. "I know." She held his chin between her fingers and pulled him into a kiss that made both Y/N and Lauren smile for the other couples happiness together.

"My personal favorite is probably Clairvoyant." Lauren claimed. "It's only him and a guitar, and it's really different from his other songs, it just sounds different." She shrugged.

Y/N nodded in agreement, "I like when he says "Don't pain me black when I use to be golden." Just about every single person can relate to that exact line."

"Is that your favorite?" James asked the lone twin.

Y/N shook her head, "As much as I do like that song, my favorite of his is: Start All Over Again. Franki use to be in love with jazz music. He use to experiment with trombones and trumpets and even the harp. I remember when he was working on that song..." she sighed as the memory came to her. "He spent three long ass nights teaching himself how to play the saxophone, just to write that one song. And once he finished, he was so proud of himself. You couldn't wipe that smile off his face for weeks."

"I remember that." Emeli said excitedly. "He use to walk around with that damn saxophone for weeks, playing it while we were all trying to fucking sleep." She chuckled. "That boy was a trip."

"He was our trip, though." Y/N said lovingly. She smiled as she was picturing Franki playing the saxophone like she had seen when they were younger.

"He was." Emeli easily agreed, reaching her free hand out and softly tapping the top of her former bandmates.

"You want to know something I remember about him?" James suddenly piped up.

"Go for it." Emeli said to him encouragingly.

James sighed, leaning back in his seat. A small smile placed on his lips as it seemed like he began to go into his own world for a moment. "I was back in Manchester a bit over a year ago and Franki happened to be visiting his family for a bit. I ran into Franki at the farmers market and we decided to grab lunch together." He shook his head as he chuckled lightly. "He told me this story about you," he glanced at Emeli. "He told me this story about when you two were just teenagers and the two of you were at this skatepark in old pilgrim dresses with terrible scary make-up on, jumping out the bushes to scare people."
