Not Everything Is Rainbows After The Engagement
Things were coming together smoothly. Y/N and Lauren started planning their wedding and they were more than excited for their future together. Lauren and Chris went back to Los Angeles to meet up with Lauren’s label about the wedding, letting her management know before the word ends up getting out. Y/N was standing at the airport waiting for her long lost best friend to show up. Chandler. It had been awhile since the two last saw each other and Y/N was excited to see her again. Chandler had been pretty busy the last few years, so Y/N understood why the girl had disappeared on her for quite some time.
And then there was Tilly. Tilly was flying in with Ester sometime within the next week to visit also. Tilly and Y/N had stayed in contact after everything that had happened because Ester was still Y/N’s niece and she didn’t want to lose that connection because of the ultimate fuck up her brother had done.
The next few weeks were going to be busy for the couple. Lauren and Y/N. Lauren wanted to get married soon and Y/N was willing to do whatever she wanted to do. Y/N had yet to tell her own mom that she was getting married soon though, that was a little bit of a problem for Lauren. As happy as Lauren was, she knew Y/N had a straining relationship with her family and it made Lauren feel slightly guilty because so far, their guest list had nothing but Lauren’s friends and family. Lauren understood why Y/N hadn’t told her family yet, but Lauren still hoped that she’d have the opportunity to know Y/N’s family better like Y/N was doing with hers.
Y/N saw a familiar curly, red head that appeared in the distance. The moment they saw each other, the two old friends ran to each other and embraced tightly. “I’ve missed you, ginger.” Y/N said jokingly.
“I’ve missed you too. And you’re ugly whale crying that you call singing.” Chandler shot right back at her, laughing as she nudged Y/N in the shoulder as they pulled apart. “You look great.”
“I do?” Y/N questioned, giving her friend a once over. “Look at you! You look as flawless as ever.”
“Shut up.” Chandler shook her head and chuckled.
They began walking to the car and Y/N took Chandler’s luggage and rolled it herself. “I really am happy to see you again, you have no idea… with everything that’s happened the last 6 months, I needed to have some Chandler time.”Chandler stopped them from walking and placed a hand on Y/N’s shoulder. “I would’ve came sooner had you called, Y/N. You know that right? I didn’t even find out about it all until you called me two nights ago… I am honestly so sorry.”
“Hey,” Y/N began softly. “I know. I know you would’ve come sooner… I just thought that you were so busy, I didn’t want to intrude in your life. You’ve got a lot going on and I understand – “
“You will never be an intrusion in my life, Y/N.” Chandler assured her sweetly and assuringly. “You’ve been my best friend since birth, you are never an intrusion. Got it?”
Y/N nodded and smiled small, “Got it.”
They continued walking until they got to Y/N’s car and began driving. It had been so long, Y/N forgot how understanding her best friend really was. It had been over two years since they last saw each other and other than the phone call that Chandler had spoke about a moment ago, they hadn’t talked in over 10 months. They both had such busy schedules now – a – days, it was hard for them to keep up with each other. But that was going to change. Y/N didn’t want to end up losing her oldest friend from loss of contact and communication.
