Can We Let Go?
As days went by they began to turn into weeks. Junie was still on the news but not as much as before. Things began to settle down and Y/N was slowly beginning to loosen up. She still watched over her shoulder and jumped every now and then when the doorknob would jiggle, but she was loosening up. Lauren and Camila were both happy to see Y/N begin to smile more. Especially Camila because she didn't like her best friend being so scared all the time. Y/N and Camila both knew that had to be on the look out, but they also were starting to convince themselves that they had nothing to be scared of.
Lauren was over the moon lately. The wedding was right around the corner now and she was more than ready to say her vows and let the two words slip from her very own lips. I do.
Lauren couldn't help but be happy as she was sitting at the kitchen table on her laptop while looking at the virtual wedding venue and how it was suppose to look. They had all the details worked out and had already sent the invitations out a couple weeks ago. Lauren wished they were already married but she was also willing to wait to call Y/N her wife. Y/N was always worth the wait. She waited for her when they had first met and she knew she'd wait for the rest of her life for Y/N if she had to. Y/N was her first and only love. She didn't want anyone else.
The wedding was a week and a half away now. A week and a half. Camila watched as Y/N and Lauren both shared their excitement. Camila also ached inside as she watched it. She was happy for them, don't get her wrong. But do you know how heartbreaking it is to watch the person you love, love someone else? It's a bitch.
"I just can't believe you're about to be married!" Lauren's friend exclaimed.
Camila was sitting in the living room, the TV was on and Friends was playing. Even with how much she loves this show, she couldn't help but listen in on Lauren's conversation. Lauren was on the phone with her friend Alexa on speaker. They were gushing about the wedding. Camila was aching but she didn't care. Y/N's safety and happiness is what mattered to her. Even if it meant destroying her own heart.
"I know." Lauren sighed happily. "And to the girl of my dreams."
Camila closed her eyes, taking a deep breath and exhaling it. Y/N was also the girl of her dreams. It seemed as so Y/N was the girl of everyone's dreams. But still, Camila kept her feelings to herself and everyday she could feel herself dying inside. Including right now, which is why she tore herself from the couch and went down the hall to her old room that she had been staying in again.
Lauren looked down the hall when she heard a door close and immediately she winced. She had forgotten that Camila was here for a second. A very brief moment. She cringed mentally for being so inconsiderate of her friends feelings and shook her head. She knew how hard this was on Camila. She had been doing a good job at keeping things under wraps. She didn't want Camila to think she was being insensitive or anything. She knew the feeling that Camila must be feeling around them and she wished she could change it, so she at least wanted to settle it a little.
Lauren sighed, ending the conversation on her phone and closing her laptop. She needed to talk to Camila. She needed to make sure she was okay. It might be an awkward conversation but it was an awkward conversation waiting to happen. She hated knowing that Camila was hurting, especially when her happiness was the cause of it. As rough as their friendship has been, she loved Camila. Even through the fights, the jealousy, Y/N's indecisiveness. She loved Camila, always. She was a great friend in the end of it all. Camila was always there. And now it was Lauren's turn to be there for her.
