Never In A Million Years

Chapter Eleven

James' P.O.V

I groan as I roll out of bed the next morning.

"Dude, what happened last night! You stormed up stairs, slammed the door, fell onto your bed shutting the curtain like you wanted to rip them apart." Sirius says as soon as I walk out of the bathroom.

I laugh harshly, "it isn't the curtains I want to rip apart."

"What?" Remus asks, confusion written all over his face.

I roll my eyes. "Guys, I just don't want to- where's Peter?" I say, finally realizing he's gone, but also wanting to change the subject.

"Huh, haven't seen him sense last night." Remus says thoughtfully, looking around.

"He probably already went down to the Great Hall for breakfast, you know Peter." Sirius says grinning.

We all nod in agreement, and quickly pull on our robes. We head down to the Great Hall, and when I notice the guys heading toward our usually spots, I stop. "Hey, guys, lets sit somewhere else today."

"Huh, why?" Sirius looks over at the girls, and this time I notice a guy sitting with them, or more specifically Lily, one that isn't Peter. 

I assume, that the guys just think that I'm jealous, but in all honesty, it's because I didn't want to sit with Lily even if she didn't have a guy with her.

Remus looks at me solemnly, and nods. "Yeah, come on." We head back over to the other side of the table and sit down next to two fifth year girls, and one guy.

The girls smile shyly at us, and I quickly recognize the guy as Charlie Wood. He is the Gryffindor  keeper, and he is pretty amazing!

"Hey Wood." I smile, grabbing a piece of toast, and scooping some eggs on top of them.

"Why are you guys sitting over here? Why not where you usually sit, by Evans and them?" Wood says, jerking his head over to where Lily, and her new friend are. 

I shrug. "We got in a fight."

"You guys broke up?" 

I blush crimson, which, mind you, is a sight to see sense it doesn't usually happen. "We were never dating, but we did get in a fight." 

"Wait, is that why you were pissed off last night?" Sirius asks, sounding shocked.

"Yeah." I nod. 

"What did you fight about?" Wood asks, getting interested.

"Nothing."

Remus and Sirius both raise an eyebrow, well Sirius does, Remus can't so he raises both.

"Okay, yeah, it was something, but, never mind."  I grumble standing up. "I'm going to Potions, see you guys later."

I walk down to the Potions class room, glaring at anyone that gets in my way. I lean up against the wall outside of the door waiting for Slughorn to open the door. 

I stand there, in silence, for about five minuets, before people start to come rushing down the stairs, and Sluggy opens the door.

TIME FOR A CLICHE MOMENT!

A couple minuets later, when everyone is seated, Slughorn goes up to the front of the room and announces that he will be assigning us new partners for the rest of the year. I groan, because a.) my partner right now is Remus and he is really good at potions, and b.) I could get stuck with a stupid slytherin, which is what I don't want.

"Remus and Sirius" Gah, lucky.

"Marlene and Severus." I have to stifle my laughter at that.

"Alice and Frank." I grin at Frank, as he moves over to sit next to Alice.

"Dorcas and Peter." I feel bad for ol' Pete, when I realize he isn't even here. "Uh, Dorcas, if you could please tell Peter when you see him next that would be brilliant." Dorcas nods, sighs, and sits down.

"Bellatrix and Rodolphus." 

"James and Lily." I mentally groan as I walk over to where lily is standing, waiting. I feel like I was just given a death penalty as I stare into Lily's cold, hard eyes, not able to look away.

Slughorn soon finishes the groups and tells us that we have 30 minuets to make the draught of living death. As soon as he says "GO!" Lily pushes me towards the cupboards, telling me what to grab. I roll my eyes as I walk over, pick out the needed ingridents, which include: Infusion of Wormwood, powdered root of Infusion of Wormwood sloth brain, etc.

I bring them over to our table and drop them next to her. She already has the cauldron set up, with the water in it and the fire burning.

She tells me to chop up some of the items, and half an hour later, the fire is out, and our potion is in a flask at Slughorn's desk.

As soon as the bell rings, I dash out the door, determined to get away from Lily as soon as possible. Slughorn  told us that we were partners never said that we had to hang out together.

Sorry It's short! oh and the next chapter, we will get a new point of view! Who's it gonna be? Marlene? Snape? Sirius? Peter? Unknown? well at the moment it is unknown.
