James' P.O.V
When Lily and I land in my room, instead of kissing her again, which I would love to, I sit her down on my bed. She leans in, but I stop her.
"What, what's wrong."
"Lily, I know there is something else that is bothering you. I know you well enough to know that Lils."
She sighs, shifting her gaze away from me.
"Lily, please, I want to help."
"There's nothing you can do James."
"At least tell me whats bothering you." I cup her chin softly, bringing her eyes back to meet mine. "Please."
"Fine, when Petunia heard that our parents died, and that it was wizards that killed them, she kicked me out. She kept yelling horrible things at me, telling me it's all my fault that they are dead. If I wasn't a witch, they would still be alive. If I wasn't born, they would still be here. And, James, I believe her. She's right, if it wasn't for me my parents would still be alive."
I wrap her up in a hug, smoothing out her hair. "No, Lily this is not your fault. You can't blame the fact that you are a witch on your parents death. This is not your fault." I say, mumbling the next bit. "If anything, it's my fault."
She looks up at me, picking her head up from it's place on my chest. "What? No James, how can it be your fault?"
"If I didn't care about you so much, this would not have happened. I know the death eaters were looking for you. No one besides yourself is a wizard in your family, so you didn't have many means of protection."
"What are you talking about!"
"My parents said no to Voldemort. When you say no to him, he hurts you however he can, and because my house is so well protected, he couldn't get to me or Sirius. So, they chose the next best thing, hurting me. They went to your house to find you, to kill you, so that it would hurt me. Sense you weren't there, they killed your parents instead."
"That doesn't make it your fault James!"
"Well, then whose is it, because it certainly is not yours."
"Voldemorts. This is all because of him."
"I can definitely agree with you on that."
She smiles sadly up at me. "I still have to go to her weddding though."
"Huh?"
"Petunia is getting married to this awful muggle named Vernon Dursley. She never wanted me to go, but she is now forcing me to go because my mom wanted nothing more then for me to go to her wedding, well, before she, you know." She quietly hiccups.
I move my hand from where it was resting on my knee to her back, rubbing small circles to calm her.
"I'll go with you, your plus one, your date."
She quickly wraps her arms around me. "Thank you James."
"Anything for you Lilyflower."
And for the rest of the night, we sat there, in my room, on my bed, just cuddling, and talking, and kissing. I couldn't have asked for anything better.
Sorry it was so short. and late, very very late. I wanted to update like three times last week when I was on spring break, but my phone did not have very good WIFI and it's hard to type on it. Then this week was crappy. My dad yelled at me for eating pizza with my friends, and my step sister didn't get in trouble because her mom was not mad. And its a very rare occasion that my dad gets mad instead of my stepmom. And today I was sick because last night i puked! fun times. So I was feeling horrid all day. Again sorry for the late and short update. Love you all!
