The needle punctured my arm; blood was being pulled out of my arm and into the syringe. Pain spread up my arm; there was some chemical on the needle which was now in my blood stream. I tried to hold my scream in as much as I could, but the pain was unbearable. I scream at the top of my lungs close to Glen's ear. Glen flinched away, taking the needle out of my arm. Instantly the pain got worse. Tears came down my face, and my nose began to run. Rhys looked at me while I was suffering. How embarrassing. I felt weak and useless; all I could do was lean back on the blank of wood and feel all of my energy disappear. I could feel my blood slowing down; the pain in my arm disappearing. My eyes began to shut; I was quickly becoming tired. Glen and Rhys both looked at me. They were both smirking at my pain. Glen gently nudged Rhys, "She's dying. We've won this war. They have no chance."

Rhys and Glen both chuckled together. I slowly looked at both of them, trying to keep my eyes open for as long as I could. It took all of my effort to keep my head lifted high enough to look at them both. Sweat started to stream down my face as I tried to hold myself up. Rhys and Glen stood in front of me and watched my suffer. If I get out of this alive, I'll kill them both. But inside I knew that I wasn't getting out of this alive; no one knew I was here, and no one will probably ever come down here. I'm going to die here. My family aren't going to come, and I won't be able to say goodbye. Stefan won't be here, I won't be able to say goodbye to him either. Gaia...I won't be able to say goodbye to her, and tell her all of these secrets I've been hiding from her. My head felt heavier than the rest of my body; my muscles were deteriorating quickly. I began to sob while Rhys and Glen began to laugh again.

I felt everything; my blood stopping, my muscles weakening, the pain in my wrists as I sank into the ground. I always thought my death would be quick and painless; but it wasn't. It was slow and painful. Dying was no longer my worst fear, as I died, I embraced it. The pain slowly went away as my body deteriorated, but when I finally did die, there was no pain. I felt like I was a feather. Death, for me, was the best thing that could have happened.

Glen and Rhys watched Lyric's hanging body; she had stopped moving, stopped breathing. She was finally dead. Glen looked at Rhys, "We've don’t it kid! We finally killed a vampire, well, half of one but still! Those vampires have no chance against us now!" Rhys nodded excitedly at Glen, but then looked back to Lyric's body. "But, what about the body?" Glen shook his head, "We'll leave it here, someone will pick it up later. Come on, let's go get a beer." Glen patted Rhys on the back, grabbed Lyric's phone, and they walked out of the dungeon, leaving Lyric's body behind.

Melody sat at home with Erik waiting for Lyric. She had not returned from hanging out with Rhys. Melody sighed and leaned against Erik as they both sat on the couch. "I wonder where she is. It's getting late." Melody gripped onto Erik's tighter as some sort of comfort. Erik began to pat Melody's head, and she snuggled into his body. Erik grabbed his phone and gave it to Melody. "Call her." Melody took the phone out of his hand and stared at it. Lyric's number was on the screen. Melody pushed the call button. The phone began to ring. Melody pushed the phone against her ear, and waiting for Lyric to answer. The phone was answered, but not by Lyric. "Hello Melody. How are you?" Glen asked sarcastically. Melody pushed away from Erik and sat up straight on the couch. "Where the fuck is Lyric?!" Anger rose up Melody's body. "Where the fuck is my baby?!"

Glen began the laugh down the phone. Melody stood up and began to pace around the room. "Look you sick fuck, tell me where she is, and I promise that I won't hurt you down, and tear your fucking throat out!" Glen began to laugh even more. Glen began to breathe heavily; trying to control his laughing fit. Glen sighed happily, "Your daughter is dead. You've lost the war; you've lost your only child." Sobs came from Melody's mouth. She sank to the ground as her tears streamed down her cheeks. Erik kneeled beside her, holding her in his arms. "What's wrong baby? Where's Lyric?" Erik pressed his face against the top of Melody's head and wrapped his arm tightly around her waist. Melody stuttered to Erik, "She's dead. She's gone. We're never going to see her again."

Everything stopped around them both. They had both lost their only reason for living.  Melody and Erik sat on the floor embracing each other, yet the pain would not stop.

By the end of the day, they both ended their immortal lives by staking each other in the heart.

Glen and Rhys reported back to the VEC (Vampires Execution Commission) quarters. As they walked through the large doors, co-workers watched them walk through to the grand hall. The grand meister was waiting for them on his throne. The grand meister watched at them as they walked towards him. Glen and Rhys were both calm and they held their heads up high.

Glen and Rhys stopped 3 metres away from the grand meister and bowed. The grand meister nodded at them. "Do tell me, what have you accomplished?" The grand meister waited for an answer from one of them. Glen stepped forward, "We have killed the Half-Breed child." The grand meister leaned for intrigued. He applauded them. "Well done. You have done this company, in fact, the whole human race a great favour." Glen and Rhys both bowed. The grand meister carried on, "Did you hear what happened to the Half-Breed's parents and her boyfriend?" Glen and Rhys looked at each other and shook their heads. The grand meister leaned back in his throne. "Well, the parents were found dead in their house. They had both staked each other. I guess they really couldn't live without their child. And Stefan, well, we had some agents take care of him and his father. They burned their restaurant down with both of them inside. Double kill!" The grand meister laughed at his own joke. Glen and Rhys chuckled slightly, but honestly, it was not that funny. The grand meister coughed and continued. "We have won this war. The vampires have lost their chance of winning. They can do nothing to change their fate."
