Her eyes were
Wild with fear
As she groped for
A hand
A helping hand
To pull her out
Away, away
Away from the dark
Away from the pain
But no one was there
No one to save her
And she was falling
Her eyes swam with tears
Her teeth chattering in the icy cold
She wrapped a shaking arm
Around her chest
Shielding it
Protecting it
From the frightening world outside
She screamed
Louder than she'd ever done
Before
Begging, begging
Begging for help
For an aid
For a friendly smile
But no one came
She fell back
Into the black, black hole
The hole of darkness
The hole of sadness
The hole of the forgotten
Sobs racked her body
As her hands clawed
Around her
Desperate for something
To hold on to
Her hands
Banging against
The hard, hollow walls
For anything
Anything at all
To pull her back
To pull her out of the
Suffocating darkness
Her grip was slacking
She was slipping.
