She clenched at the navy blue
Satin fabric
That covered the seats
Her fingers scrunching it up
Her body rigid
Her jaw clenched
She turned her face
Towards the speeding glass square
Bright flashes
Of faded green
And lilac petals
Blinking in her mind
She lifted her head
Her hair
Floating into a soft, silky heap
Each strand
Dangling aimlessly
As she tapped her fingers
Against the glass
Blue skies
And black ravens
Flashing across
Her vision
Brick houses
Stone walls
Green fields
And crystal lakes
Splashed lullabies
Into her ears
A hint of a smile
Made its way
Onto her lips
She closed her eyes
Resting her head
Against the seat
Unwilling to
Let go of the breeze
That sailed around her
In a soothing, hypnotizing halo
She rocked herself
Murmuring sweet nothings
To herself
The sky
A burning blue
Happy streaks
Across her placid lips
A distraction
From the voices
The demons
Their screams,
And their hissed threats
Echoed weakly
The rush of the wind
Sweeping them away
She was okay.
