Her feet

Slipped in the sand

The soft, sodden sand

And she fell to her knees

Grabbing handfuls

Of the sand

Pouring it over her legs

Her feet

Her arms

Her hands

She screamed

Into the sand

Letting the grainy chunks

Run down her throat

Tears slipped

Down her cheeks

And she traced

The lines of the streaking water

Kneeling close to the blue, blue, blue

Laughing

When her hands turned brown and wet

Blue, blue, blue water

Spreading coolness across her skin

She stopped

She closed her eyes

She looked up to the sky

She looked down to the sea

Her eyes were wild

They said they turned green

When she was about to do something reckless

She swallowed

And she smashed herself

Into the water

Letting her hair tangle around her

Letting the current pull her towards it

Throwing her hands up in the air

Letting the waves take her
