Chapter 13: Flash 'N' Dash

We walk into our hotel room a little bit after 6:30. Dana plops down on the bed while Carolyn and Autumn finish walking through the door. I didn't know how they got in after us; they were in front of us when we walked into the lobby. My parents booked us a room at the Paradise Inn a couple of miles away from our homes. Carolyn grabs a note off of the drawers that said, Pajama's inside. She opens the drawer and, as the note said, there were pajama's in them, each in our size. "Wow Har, your parents do not want you at the house at all." Autumn says, grabbing a pair of pajamas her size. "What about you guys? You were at the house today, didn't you see what they were doing?" I sit down on the bed next to Dana. "Exactly, we were at the house, not inside of it. That's why we were standing outside." said Carolyn. I sigh as I slowly get up and grab a pair of pajama's my size. "Are we ordering in or going out?" I ask, nearing the bathroom. "I have no problem eating out."

"Yeah, me either."

"Sure, let's eat out." The girls say. I shrug my shoulders and say, "Let's go to Applebee's." We all cheer for a second. I grab the card key and Dana says, "Last one to the car, has to drive." Immediately, we all take off down the hallway. At the end of the hall, we go separate ways. I take the stairs since we were only on the third floor. I'm skipping and jumping stairs by the dozen and push open the doors to the lobby. I see the girls and they stop when they see me, confusion on their faces. I step out of the trance and take one deep breath before I dash out of the doors.

I see the car just a few feet away, and I look through the corner of my eye and see Carolyn. I try and go faster but my legs felt as if I were about to trip over them. Before they could trip me, I touch the door and yell, out of breath, "First... bitches!" I put my hands on my knees and inhale deeply. Carolyn comes after me and Dana after her. We stand near the car for a few minutes when finally, Autumn comes out holding a map. "What took you so long, I could've sworn you were next to me earlier?" Dana asks her. Autumn shrugs her shoulders. "I saw a stand and it had a city map there. If we're going to Applebee's, then we should know where it was." "You could've just asked me, it's down the street next to the gas station." Carolyn tells her. "How do you know that?" I ask her and she rolls her eyes. "We passed it coming here. I'm always aware of my surroundings." Carolyn walks up to Autumn and grabs the keys. "It's too cold out here for me, so can we go now?" Carolyn opens the doors and slides in the front seat. We all follow her inside, me in the back next to Dana. She starts the car and we make our way to the restaurant.

A few seconds later, we enter the Applebee's parking lot. We go inside and get a booth. I pick up my menu and scan it for what I wanted. The waiter comes by and Autumn goes pale. "Hello, ladies. My name is Will and I will be your waiter for the evening. To start, what would you ladies like to drink?"

"You." Autumn says quietly and I nudge her with my elbow. She clears her throat and says, "A coke will do fine." I get a Pepsi and Carolyn and Dana order a sprite and a fruit punch. Will leaves and we all laugh at Autumn. "You're such a child for ordering a fruit punch, Dana." Carolyn says. "I'm so glad he's gone now. I felt like I was about to die." Autumn exhales and fans herself with her hand. "You looked like it." I chuckle out. "Yeah, you totally went ga-ga for him." Carolyn says. Dana and I laugh at her comment, causing Autumn to blush.

Will comes back, carrying our drinks on a tray. "Okay, would you like to order now?"

"I would like chicken tenders...with a side of you." Dana says in a lowered voice. Carolyn and I couldn't contain our laughter, leaving Will with a confused look. Autumn turns red and says her order. Carolyn and I do the same and he leaves with a smile on his face. "Chill out, Autumn. It's not a big deal." I assure her. "Oh, it's a big deal." Carolyn says. Autumn gives her a death stare and the whole table goes silent until our meals come.
