"I still can't believe we made something so beautiful." I say as I rock our newborn daughter. Ethan lies next to me and gently kisses my temple. "I can't either. She's definitely gonna have her mothers looks." He chuckles. I nod my head and smile. "But, she'll be smart just like her father." Ethan blushes. I hand her to him and he puts her back in the incubator. When I climb back into the bed, he grabs my hand and intertwines our fingers.
"What are we going to name her?" I ask him quietly. He shrugs and exhales heavily. "How about Natalie?" he suggests and I shake my head. "Nope. I fought a Natalie in 10th grade. What about Sarah?"
"Autumn already called dibs, remember?" Ethan says. we continue going back and forth with names for over an hour. "Hayden?" Ethan shakes his head. "When we have another girl. This one has to be perfect." I smile at him. "Lana? Like little miss Lana Banana?" we laugh and I rubs Ethan's hand with my thumb. The room goes quiet and I say, "What about Elle?"
Ethan thinks for a second and smiles. "Eleanor?" I tap his shoulder.
"I like that name. It's....different." He says after awhile. I sit up next to him and smile widely. "So, are we going with Eleanor?" Ethan nods. "A perfect name for a perfect girl." I let out a squeal and he shushes me when Eleanor starts to shuffle around. My eyes start to water and I get up. Quietly, I make my way over to her and say, "Hi, Ellie. I'm your mommy. And that giant teddy bear over there," I look at Ethan, who was making his way over to us. "He's your daddy." I wipe my eyes and rest my head on Ethan's shoulder as he holds me close to him.
Who would've thought, I'd meet my husband, the father of my beautiful daughter, in a chat room. I guess you can find love in unexpected places. All it took was a simple 'Hello'.
