Chapter 19: THUNDER CATS A-GO!

PRESENT DAY

"Okay, now wait a minute, I don't remember that happening." Ethan says over the chatter from all of our friends and family. "I do. And besides, it's my story." I say and playfully hit his arm. "Well, who cares, you're together now!" Autumn says while pointing to the ring on my finger. We all laugh and my mother puts her hands up. "Now, now Harley. What have I told you about laughing hard? You're going to laugh that baby right out of your tummy." She says while taking a sip of her soda.

I roll my eyes and walk/waddle to the kitchen. Dana walks behind me and I rest my weight on her.

"Whoa! A little too heavy now, Quinn." she chuckles and I glare at her. "Oh come on, I'm just teasing." She pokes my side, causing me to squeal.

"How ya feeling?" Comes Autumn from the living room. I shrug my shoulders and say, "Eh. Fat." we all laugh and I grab some ice cream and fruit. Carolyn skips into the kitchen. "Uh, why are you in here? There are people waiting for y'all." she smiles and joins us at the counter. Who would've thought, 12 years later and we're all still friends and doing better than we expected.

Autumn is an author and wrote a couple of books that my mom published. She got married to some guy she met while researching for a book in Brazil. Carolyn became a fashion designer. I knew she'd always do something with fashion ever since the Halloween ball in high school. She's engaged, but it's someone I never expected. My brother, Nicholas James. Shocker, right? Dana is a Marriage counselor, although she isn't married. Isn't it ironic? Then there's me. After college, Ethan and I met up again. Soon after we got married. I'm a medical examiner and Ethan is a real estate agent. Later on into our second year of marriage, I got pregnant. Currently, 9 months.

We all sit around laughing and joking when suddenly, I feel a warm liquid go down my leg and my eyes go wide. "Dude, what's wrong?" Dana asks as she walks over to me. "Ewwwww, dude you peed!" she says and I grab onto her arm. Carolyn and Autumn hop up and look at the liquid substance. They exchange looks before Dana screams Ethan's name. "Yeah!" he calls back. "THUNDER CATS A-GO!!!" I say after a short pause. We all pace into the living room and my mom drops her cup. Dad looks at me and Ethan stands up. "Well, what are you guys sitting around for? Get the stuff!" Carolyn yells and everyone starts running around.

My mom grabs my hand and asks, "How are you feeling?"

"Great. I don't feel a thing." I respond, smiling. Ethan is running around, throwing clothes and other supplies inside of our "After-Baby" bag. My dad grabs the car keys and everyone follows him into the car. Ethan grabs my other hand and we walk into the car. "Did you bring the towel?" I ask and he runs back inside the house.

A few seconds later, he comes back out and grabs my hand again. We get inside the SUV and drive to the hospital. "How do you feel now?" Ethan asks. "I feel like I'm having a child." I say and we laugh. I don't know why everyone makes child birth seem painful. So far, I feel perfectly fine.
