Snow. That was the first thing Eret saw out his bedroom window when he woke up. His hazel eyes widened in amazement as he turned over to the lump asleep next to him.

"Lupa! Wake up!" He hissed, shaking the covers of his little sister. A small moan came from under the blankets and furs and a set of glass green eyes glared at him.

"Go away I'm sleepy." She growled and pulled the covers back over her head. Eret rolled his eyes and yanked the blankets off his sister completely. Lupa made a whinning noise when exposed to the slightly chilly air before growing and jumping off the bed to grab the blankets but Eret pulled them out of reach and ran to the open window.

"But it's snowing little wolf!" Eret said holding the blankets behind him. Lupa glanced at the window and her face lit up at the sight of the white flakes.

"Snow! It's snowing! It's snowing!" She screamed happily and ducked under their bed to grab her boots. "We have to touch it first before anyone else does!"

"Right then! To the snow!" Eret cheered pulling his boots on and helping Lupa with her own boots.

Both quickly snuck past their parents room, snatching their cloaks from the hooks near the fireplace and ran out the door into the white world. Lupa gave a whoop, took a running leap off the stairs and landed on the fresh white powder. Eret gave a war cry and did likewise before landing next to his sister.

"Snowman! Let's make a snowman!" Lupa begged, climbing out of the snow pile.

"Alright you go get the things, I'll make the body." Eret said and Lupa ran back into the house.

A few minutes later he managed to make a decent body for their snowman when Lupa came back staggering with the supplies. They had started sticking coal onto it's chest and looking for twigs for the arms.

"What in Odin's name are you two doing?" Both the children's heads snapped up to see their mother sticking her head out of the window. "Get back inside now!"

"But mama we can't leave the snowman alone or Brutus Ogar will destroy it!" Lupa whined.

"Get inside now." Their mother replied sharply. "Change your clothes and eat something warm before you get sick."

"Better do as she says." Eret said as he abandoned the head of the snowman. "We'll continue working on it after breakfast."

"But Brutus will destroy him like the last one we made!" Lupa pointed out and followed her brother inside.

"We'll remake it. We'll just make the bottom base out of rocks and cover it with snow so when he kicks it he won't be able to destroy anymore." Eret promised giving her a wicked grin. Lupa grinned back and they both hurried upstairs to their room to change.

"There we go!" Eret said patting the snow down on their second "snowman" and standing back to examine it.

"He looks perfect!" Lupa declared as she put an old helmet onto it's head. "Now he's ready to fight Brutus!"

"Indeed he is little wolf, indeed he is." Eret chuckled and patted her head.

"Very nice job." Their father said walking down the stairs and examining their artwork.

"Thank you papa." They said in unison and giggled. Their father raised an eyebrow and studied them carefully with his hazel eyes.

"What are you giggling about now?"

"Nothing." Eret said quickly and Lupa released another giggle. Their father just looked at them with no emotion and then shrugged.
