"Go!" He yelled pushing her through the gap. "Run and don't stop!"
"No I'm not leaving you behind!" She screamed grabbing his hand and trying to pull him through.
"Don't worry Lupa, we'll see eachother again soon I promise!"
"When? I don't want to l...
"Bardolf? U-uncle Bardolf wake up!" Eret yelled shaking his uncle. When he didn't move, Eret began to feel a sob crawling out. He tried holding it down but it was hard to. "Why why why why?" He cried.
"Eret!" He looked up to see Hiccup running in his direction. Out of the corner of his eye he could see the archer pointing his bow at Hiccup and preparing to shoot.
"No don't come close!" Eret yelled standing up. "Run back Hiccup!"
"What?" Hiccup yelled slowing down.
"Stay away!" Eret yelled more loudly. "Stay away or you'll be-" THWACK the killer suddenly fell forward and tumbled off the roof and fell between them. Hiccup gaped at the dead body in front of him and looked up at Eret in shock.
"Oh my Thor." He said slowly as Eret ran to him. An arrow was poking out of the mans back, it's feathers a dark rusty color.
"Who shot this?" Eret asked yanking the arrow out of the mans back.
"No one among us brought archery supplies." Hiccup said trying to avoid looking at the body. "And whoever shot this must have painted the arrow feathers."
"Oi put your hands up!" Eret cringed at the familiar voice but did as ge was told. "Now turn around slowly. No funny moves." They turned around to see a man with dark red hair and a clean shaven face with tattoos on his chin.
"Brutus Ogar what a surprise." Eret said sarcastically at his old enemy from childhood.
"Knew you would be a traitor. Deserting Drago by helping those prisoners escape." Brutus sneered hefting his crossbow higher and aiming the arrow at Eret's face. "Wonder what you'll look like with an arrow sprouting out of your forehead."
"Oh please you're too craven to pull the trigger." Eret said rolling his eyes.
"What are you doing?" Hiccup hissed. "You're gonna get yourself killed Eret!"
"Shhh! Let me do the talking Hiccup." Eret hissed back. "So you're going to kill the heir to your tribe hmm? For what reason?"
"Revenge obviously."
"What have I ever done to you Brutus? All I ever did was defend my little sister from you."
"You were the favorite among Drago's soldiers obviously. Bardolf always liked you and was always so hard on me."
"I'm his nephew. He always pushed everyone to do better in training. You were a lazy bastard who was always whinning and complaining about every single little thing." Eret said glancing at his uncle's dead body and feeling a tang of guilt.
"Oh so that's why he treated you so special." Brutus spat. "Well let's see how well he can defend you now traitor."
"Brutus don't!" Eret said in a warning tone and took a step back.
"Move!" Two girls, one familiar and ine not so familiar, yelled in unison.
Two axes went flying and Eret and Hiccup jumped to the sides to avoid getting hit. One axe embedded itself in the front of Brutus' head and the other on his back. With a groan he fell to the side with a sickening thump.
"Hiccup! Eret! Are you okay?" Astrid yelled running over to them with the gang and their dragons behind them.
"Who threw the other axe?" Hiccup asked as Astrid pulled her axe out of Brutus' back.
"I don't know but who is this?" Astrid asked poking Brutus with the tip of her boot.
"Some old enemy of Eret's." Hiccup said eying the body warily as if he was expecting Brutus to come alive any second.
"That axe...that's my mother's." Eret said pulling the axe out of the corpses head and examining the strange colored weapon.
"But she's dead isn't she?" Fishlegs asked and noticed the other two bodies. "Oh my how many people were killed today?" Astrid and the others noticed the other two bodies and gasped.
"That was my uncle Bardolf." Eret said nodding towards the corpse sitting against the wall. "I didn't even know I had one."
"How do you know he wasn't lying?" Snotlout asked warily.
'The mark on his chest was the one my sister had on her back. She's his daughter and he's my father's half brother." Eret explained. "But this axe...it can't be she's dead."
"Or someone else decided to rescue the weapon to keep thieves from stealing it." They turned to see a hooded figure standing near the body of Bardolf. Judging by the clothes it was a girl wearing armor of metal that looked like it was made of copper and gold.
"It's the Wolf Queen!" Tuffnut gasoed ducking behind Fishlegs.
"Who are you?" Eret asked gripping the axe tightly.
"Question is do you remember me?" The girl asked studying him with her glass green eyes.
"Should I?" Eret asked.
"Shame you don't remember your precious little wolf. I'm disappointed in you."
"Little wolf?" Astrid asked confused. The girl chuckled and pulled her hood off and pulled the scarf covering her mouth down so they could see her face.
Her hair was an orangish brown color and it was tied into a braid that snaked down to her waist. Her eyes were glass green like a Night Fury or a Razorwhip's. Her small face with pale pink lips and tanned skin with two faint scars on one cheek were framed by her bangs.
"Now do you recognize me?" She asked Eret. He gasped and dropped the axe.
