"Move along you damn brat!" One of the guards yelled cracking a whip over the children's heads. Several ducked down to avoid being hit but some weren't so lucky.
"Eret what are they gonna do to us?" Lupa asked quietly as they trudged up the wooden plank that led to the ship.
"I-I think they're gonna train us." He whispered to her as they were led into a large pen. There were several piles of various weapons ranging from small daggers to battle axes to spears.
"Alright children, today we'll begin your training." A man said walking into the ring followed by several guards. He wore a cape of fur around his neck that looked like it a wolf pelt that was almost the same shade of Lupa's orangish brown hair, and wore a leather chest plate with the symbol of a howling wolf.
Each of the children were broken into pairs of two and were each handed a sword and a shield. The man, Bardolf, wove through them all watching them and correcting them if they did something wrong.
"I see you are pretty well with the sword." Bardolf said to Eret as he knocked a boy's sword aside with one swift move.
"I learned it from my father." Bret said with a hint of pride in his voice. "But my sister is good at it too." He pointed towards Lupa who was sparring with a boy who was twice her size. They watched as the boy swung his sword but she ducked out of the way and smacked him with the flat part of the blade and he fell over howling.
"I can see that." Bardolf chuckled. "She'd make an excellent solider for Drago's army."
"She won't fight for him." Eret stated bluntly. "We both loath Drago because he killed our grandmother and our father."
"Well even i don't like him but I still have to work for him to keep my own skin." Bardolf said walking away. "And i suggest you do the same."

"I'm scared of going to sleep." loop told her older brother as they layed down on their straw bedding.
"Is it the nightmares?" Eret asked shaking out the blanket to get the dust out of it. Luna nodded.
"I see mommy, Sunny, daddy and grandma Agnes in them." Eret felt sorry for his sister. Watching their mother and baby sister was horrifying enough for her and small flecks of the blood were still on her face.
"Don't worry, maybe you'll have good dreams tonight he said throwing the blanket down on them and snuggling under it.
"Eret I'm scared." Lupa wimpered softly.
"It's alright little wolf, I'll protect you. I'm right here." Eret said wrapping the blanket around the both of them tightly. "I promise." Please Thor, Odin, let me keep this promise for my little sister
