Chapter 3

Okay I lied a bit that I was going to change my plot completely but I am going to change it a little bit. Anyways, enjoy the story.

10k is slowly walking behind Nikolina and Will as they travel down the road together.

"You know I think we should ditch this guy as soon as we can. To hatch out a plan," Will whispers to Nikolina. "There's no reason that we should trust him."

Nikolina looks at Will. "I'm not leaving him, and for the record Will neither were you trustworthy when we both came across each other back in Montana. So why don't you just shut the hell up and suck it up for once in your life."

"Why?" Will asks, getting angry. "What does he have to offer? Other than being a good shot."

"You're jealous of 10k aren't you?"

"Of course I am," Will says. "He's good with his slingshot and his sniper rifle."

"And what are you proposing?" Nikolina whispers back, stopping in her tracks, facing her old acquaintance.

"How about we take him out by a) killing him, b) leaving him for dead when we're surrounded by zombies, or c) we drug him and leave him," Will says, putting his hands on her shoulders.

"For the record all of those options are about killing him and leaving him are really risky and stupid," Nikolina says. "So, no."

"Why not?"

"Because whatever happened when I left you with those awful people," Nikolina answers. "You surely have turned into a special kuh-razy kind of Cocoa Puffs."

"But it would be us," Will says. "We can be a team again. Who cares about our old group anyways. I was deemed a threat too because we were friends. I cared about you Nina, I always have. So why wouldn't I now?"

Nikolina looks into Will's eyes for a moment, before shaking her head, as she shakes his hands off off of her. "There is no we." Nikolina walks away.

Will sighs, before he follows after her. "But there is a we with him?"

"He's different."

"How?"

"I don't know...he's not like the Cutters or the Enders." Nikolina admits. "He's not like anyone I've came across in a while. He's special and you know it." (Ooh, how is 10k special?).

"How does he have to do with-?" Will asks, but drops in mid-sentence. "You like him?"

"What?!"

"You do," Will asks. "Don't you?"

"That is none of your business." Nina seemed offended by it even though it may be true.

"I beg to differ."

"You beg to differ?" Nikolina asks, looking at him. "We may have been in the same group together, who have a bunch full of crazies, but that doesn't mean you get the right to control everything I do in my life."

"I'm sorry," Will says.

"You're sorry?" Nikolina asks, getting angry. "Why don't you just go back to the Cutters, since that's where you've always belonged." (Just for the record, he was never seemed a threat. I wonder why? What did he do to make Nina be deemed as a potential plaque of chaos and destruction?).

"Do you hear that?" 10k asked, from behind them. Nikolina and will stop, and listen to hear what 10k was hearing. There wasn't anything.

"I don't hear anything," Nikolina says.

"Exactly," 10k says. "No Z's, not even birds. Nothing."

Nikolina sighs. "That's not good."

"Where's your friend?" 10k asks, indicating that Will is gone.

She looks beside her.

William, mostly nicknamed as Will was no where near in sight. He was just gone.

"He's not my friend, at least a real one by the way," Nikolina answers. "He's crazy but he wouldn't harm me. Ever."

10k nods his head.

"But.... we need to look for him," she says. "So let's go."

A few minutes later....

Nikolina and 10k walked into an old abandoned building. Instead of the old tattered furniture and blood splattered on the walls, and all over the place. It was decent.

"Should we even bother with this place?" 10k asked, looking around. "There might not even be anything in here for us."

10k stops in his tracks, as Nikolina shrugs her shoulders.

"Maybe we shou-" he stopped in mid-sentence when he looked over to where Nikolina was standing, but she was laying in the floor, unconscious.

10k looked around and he saw a shadowy figure lift something in his peripheral vision and then he felt something collide at the side of his head.

The last thing he saw were two men carrying Nikolina up and two other men's feet walking up to him and lifting him up before his vision became blurry and he closed his eyes and everything just went black.
