Chapter 6

Nikolina and 10k breathed in and out, as they catch their breath, and intently watch the two guards. Nikolina looks at the man in the middle. "You would have to kill us first," she says to the man.

10k turns to look at her, giving her a look like she's crazy. "You sure about this?" 10k asked.

"Just follow my lead," she whispers to him.

10k nodded his head, and turns his attention to the man that is in front of them.

"All right," Tyler, the man in the middle, says. "Enough dilly-dally." and he turns his head towards to his men. "Get the kid. The girl is mine."

Nikolina pulls out her bow and arrow, and she sold it at the leader. All he does is stop in his tracks, and puts his hands up in a mock surrender, as he smiles. "Take another step and I'll put this arrow through your eye," Nikolina says, warningly.

"You wouldn't shoot," Tyler says, egging her on to do it.

"Oh really?" Nikolina asks. "You really want to find out."

"You don't have the guts," Tyler finished.

Before Tyler could blink an eye, the arrow lodged into his chest. He went down screaming in pain, and falls down to the ground, from the impact. He looks back up at Nikolina and saw she already had another arrow notched and aimed at him, the string drawn back and rest to fire. Nikolina smiles at him. "Just try me."

"KILL THEM!" he shouted, as he dodges the next arrow shot at him. The guns start back up as her and 10k started to run.

Just as Nikolina was about to make it to the truck, someone grabbed her from behind and put a blade against her throat.

Will.

"Come back here kid," Will's voice said right behind her. "Or I'll slit her throat."

"Will," Nikolina says. "You don't have to do this."

"Oh you see Nina, I do," he whispers in her ear. "If I don't, they kill me. Just like the Cutters threatened me."

"Not if you come with us," she says. "You can make this right."

"I don't want to come with you and lover boy... 10k is it?"

"You'll know that they'll kill you anyways," she says. "Never trust anyone except for yourself."

10k was on the roof of the truck, and had his gun locked, and loaded and aimed at Will's head.

Nikolina looks up at 10k and she shakes her head. "He made his choice," she says. "This one's mine." With that, 10k pulls his head back away from his scope and take his finger away from the trigger.

Nikolina punches Will in the face with her right fist and turns around, taking Will's arm, twisting it. Nikolina uses her other hand to take the knife out of his grasp.

Will uses his other hand to take out a syringe.

Nikolina head butts him, which causes him to fall down to the ground. Then Nikolina puts her right leg onto his stomach and pits the knife to his throat and then takes the medical syringe out of his right hand.

Will puts his hands up in surrender. "Okay."

Nikolina squints her eyes at him.

"Okay," Will repeats.

Nikolina gets up off of him and she stands up knot her feet.

10k jumps off of the truck and lands on his feet, and points his sniper rifle at Will.

Will stands up onto his feet.

Nikolina hands 10k, Will's knife, who gladly takes it and puts it in his belt.

"No hard feelings here Will?" Nikolina asks, and she holds out her hand for him to shake.

"I would feel more comfortable if your buddy here puts down his rifle," Will says.

Nikolina rolls her eyes at Will, and looks at 10k, and nods her head.

10k puts down his rifle.

Nikolina looks at Will, and Will was hesitant at first, but then slides his hand in with Nikolina's. She latches on it too tight, and pulls him closer to her, harshly. She inserts the syringe needle into his neck and then pushes the serum into her former group members' body.

"Now you're our prisoner," Nikolina says dangerously low.
