Kleo: Ending together

Chapter 6

When I woke up Ned was laying beside me and of course he was snoring. Okey at least he's home now.
I got up trying not to wake him but that did not go as I planed.

"Kate? I'm so sorry."

"It's alright Ned" I said as I got dressed in my blue jeans.

"No it's not, I hurt you."

"Let's just forget this and move on? okay?"

"I know you can't forget this.. But I'm really sorry and I mean it this time."

"So all the other times when you said you were sorry you didn't mean it? Great Ned just great."

As I walked through the bedroom door he called my name but I didn't respond.

I woke up my kids so they wouldn't be late for school.
They got dressed and ate their breakfast and got ready in about twenty minutes.

"Lets go kids we will be late if we don't go now." I said as I grabbed my keys.

The kids rushed to the car and I drove them to their schools.

"Have a good day" I shout right before they slam their doors.

On my way home I got a phone call.

"Hello"

"Hi Kate!"

"Hi Leo" I said happily

"So I was just wondering if you are still up for tomorrow?"

I didn't even have to think twice "Yes totally"

"Great I'll pick you up around 8"

"Can't wait"

then he hung up.

I drove to a grocery store and got a few things that Mia could cook for tomorrow for the kids because I'm not sure Ned will be home at a Friday night..

When I got home Ned was still there, he had cleaned all the house and even cooked a steak.

"What is happening?" I said as I put the grocery bags on the table.

"I just wanted to apologize for the way I have been acting the past few weeks." he pulled me closer.

"Oh" was all I could say.
I started thinking maybe he was going to actually change this time. I mean then this marriage could work.

"oh?"
I saw he was disappointed.

"It's great Ned I just didn't expect this to be honest."

"Yeah I thought so, I wanted to do something nice for you cuz you are always here for me and you put up with my crap. And I'm going to try to change."

I hugged him tight and when I let go our lips met and his hands were on my waist.

I pulled away and smiled.

"Sit" He ordered me as if I was his dog or something.

I laughed and did as he said.

"And by the way your mom is going to pick up the kids and they are going to stay there over the weekend, how does that sound?"

"It's sound so good!" I smiled.

Ned sat across me and we started eating.

I totally forgot all the pain he had caused. This could work.

Trough the dinner we talked and laughed.
It was nice, I really needed that.
We helped each other to wash the dishes and then he took me hand and led me into the tv room where we were going to watch
The notebook witch is my favorite romantic movie. I keep wondering why he is all of a sudden so nice to me. I don't get it. And why now? I will sooner than later find out I suppose.

We snuggle up under a blanket that my grandma made. And I fell asleep in his arms.

I woke up in my bed and I have no idea how I got here. I reached for my phone and started scrolling the trough newspaper app.
The bathroom door opens and Ned walked in.

"Morning beautiful" he said as he walked over to kiss me.

I got dressed and put a little makeup on.

"I'm going shopping for tonight" I said.

"I haven't told you what we're doing tonight...?" Ned said looking at me as he crossed his arms.

"Oh didn't I tell you? I'm going to dinner with Leo"

"No you forgot to tell me that."

"Well I'm sorry.."

"Are you going?" Ned asks.

"What do you mean? Of course I'm going."

"Are you really choosing him over your husband?"

"I'm not choosing anyone! I promised to go out with Leo and I'm not going to break that promise." I said annoyed.

Ned stayed quiet and then he said " I just feel like.. You always choose him over me."

Is that true? I thought to myself. No it can't be.

"No but he is my friend, best friend actually and you have to respect that. For my defense I did not know we had plans for tonight."

"I have been so understanding about you and Leo but I always feel like I'm your fucking second choice!"

Before I could say anything he stormed out the bedroom and slammed the door in my face.

Great Kate you have ruined everything. Again.

I tried not thinking about this and got in my car and drove to my favorite clothing store.
I parked the car and walked inside. Nobody recognized me because I was wearing black big trousers and a black hoodie I also was wearing a cap and so big sunglasses that people couldn't see my face. I hurried trough the crowd and started searching for the perfect dress.

I searched for about ten minutes until I found it. The perfect dress.
It is red and it was so long it reached down to the floor. I tried it on and it fitted. Great!

I payed for the dress and hurried out to the car.

When I got home I got in the shower and I probably stayed in there for twenty minutes oops.
I watched some tv show until my hair was dry enough to curl it. Shortly after that I started doing my makeup. Well I didn't put a lot on my face but I wanted to look good.

The clock was only seven when I was ready but I found something to do. I did my laundry and cleaned my bedroom.

At 7:55 the door bell ringed.
