Kleo: Ending together

Chapter 9

I look around and see that all the kids have fallen asleep while watching frozen.
I wake Mia and Joe up and they walked straight into their bedrooms without saying a single word. But I pick Bear up and walk with him upstairs and put him in my bed. I really needed someone to cuddle with and he loves sleeping in moms bed.
I brushed my teeth and put on some pajamas. I couldn't wait for this day to be over.
I snuggle up with Bear and he grabs my arm and holds it so tight. He really is my sunshine.
When I close my eyes all I see is Leo. Why. I just broke up with my husband and yes Leo has been here for me for a long time but still.
I try thinking about something else but then I always end up thinking about the fight with Ned.
I open my eyes and see Bear sleeping so peacefully I forget everything and just think about all the good moments with him. And finally fall asleep.

The day after.

I wake up to Bear climbing on my head. I don't know why he does that but he loves it.

"Good morning sweetheart" I say as I pull Bear into a hug.

"Should we get something to eat?"

"Yea mommy!" Bear practically yells

I pick him up and walk downstairs and into the kitchen. I look at the clock and it's 9am. Bear is not used to sleep so long. But I can't complain.

I put Bear in his chair and turn on the tv. SpongeBob squarepants his favorite cartoon show is on.

"YAYYYYY!" Bear screams so loud I swear he will wake the kids up.

I start making pancakes and soon the smell fills the house the kids come downstairs. First Joe and Mia soon after.

They sit all by the table and watch tv together.

I finish cooking and put the pancakes on the table. I open the refrigerator and pull out some strawberries and blueberries.
As I always say, always eat something healthy with every dinner.

That breakfast was the best I've had in ages. We talked. We laughed and it was really nice. They make my day better.

"Hey mom, where is Ned?" Joe asked.

The kids all looked at me. Nervous for the answer.

"He had some work to do and stayed at a friends house for some piece and quiet."

"Yeah sure" Mia said under her breath.

I could hear her very clear but this time I'll let it slide.

"Do you have any homework to turn in tomorrow?" I asked to change the subject.

"No I finished it all yesterday" Mia answered proudly.

"Hm I need to finish my math.." Joe said thinking.

"Alright should we finish it now?"

"Yeah sure"

As soon as we finished the homework I told the kids to go clean their rooms and of course they did that.

Just when I laid down with a new book I hear someone knocking on the door.

I walk down the hallway and open the door half way so I can see who it is before I let them in.

Great just great. It's my parents.

"Hi mom..what are you doing here?"

"I can't visit my daughter without having a excuse?" My mom said going in for a hug.

"Well yes but.."

My dad interrupts

"We just miss you and the kids." And he hugs me also.

"Okay come inside"

They take of their jackets and put their shoes in the closet.

"Soooo where are my favorite grandchildrens?" My mom said loudly.

And as soon as they heard my moms voice they all came running and they all ended in her arms.

My mom has done so much for me. She is always here for me when I need her. She helped me trough the divorces with my ex's. She helped me when I feel voulnroumble. And I'm really happy to have her in my life. But.
She has also been the reasons for my depression. Well I ain't going to talk about that now. I'll try too look at the bright side now.

"Do you want a cup of tea" I asked my parents. They both nodded and followed me into the kitchen.

They sat down and my mom asked me where Ned were.

"He is-um. He is on a business trip."

"Oh really where?" My mom asked

I think she knows I'm lying.

"Germany."

"Mhm okay.."

I hoped my mom wouldn't bring this up while the kids were here but they were watching a movie so it was alright. And yes I wanted to tell them but I'm not ready. I just don't want to believe that this is actually happening.

"Have you heard anything from Leo?" My dad interrupted my thoughts.

"No, why do you ask?" I handed them their tea and looked my dad straight in the eye.

"Just wondering. I always liked him."

Yeah who doesn't.

I just laughed and pretended to search for something in the drawer.

I could see from the corner of my eyes that my parents where looking at each other and nodding.

I just ignored that and sat down.
As soon as I was going to say something my mom interrupted.

"Why don't you take a vacation and go visit Leo? We'll watch the children"

"What??? Why?"

"So we clearly see that you are upset and Leo always cheers you up."

"I-uh I don't know..."

"Do you have work next week?"

"No I don't."

"Then go!" My dad said excited

"I don't know.."

"Hand me your phone." My mom reached out her hand.

"What no."

"Then call him your self."

"I can't just call him and ask if I can come and visit."

"Duh yes you can" my dad said

"Okay fine I'll text him."

They gave each other high five and laughed.

I only gave in so they'd stop harassing me. I think...

Text message.

Kate: hey Leo.. I was wondering if I could come and visit you for a few days?

Three minutes later.

Leo: yes of course. Can't wait.
