Wondering

Stuck on the side of a winding lane,
Wondering when things went wrong,
When things stopped being the same.

I thought hard and long,
On the side of that lane.
And came to realise
That it was you that changed,
With all the secrets and lies
The nastiness and the names.

I thought you were just in a mood,
That it was a phase that would pass.
How wrong I was, thinking you were still good
Ignoring all the signs, living in the past.

It wasn't until you talked behind my back,
That I started to see,
That you weren't the same friend
That I met in grade three.

What happened to the innocent girl
That I could call my sister?
That changed completely
When it came to a new mister.

Walking along the road
Thinking about it more
You've left me alone
Many times before.

My first break up you were absent
Cause you were screwing another guy,
I thought nothing of it
Because of your lie.

And those times I needed someone,
I was always there for you.
Yet when I called you were busy
Said you had more important things to do.

But then I see you on Facebook,
Apparently you're having a party with my ex.
I guess some things even best friends can't over look.
Even the best of the best

I'm at the end of this winding lane,
Wondering what to do,
And I have decided,
To leave you alone too.
