I woke up and rubbed my eyes. I stretched and put on my glasses. My phone said it was 8:40.

Good, I thought. I wanted to get up early and get to breakfast early.

I got ready and put on a turquoise button-up blouse and jeans. I put on my contacts and blinked. I looked at myself in my mirror and walked out of my room on the bus.

This bus had three rooms-one was my mom's, one was mine, and one was Ed's. Since we were in Omaha for another night, I decided we should just sleep in my tour bus to save money.

Ed was already out of his room and heading out the door.

"Oh, hey, Taylor!" he said and waved.

"Hi,"

"I heard of this nice little breakfast place. You up for it?" he inquired. He raised his eyebrows and put his wallet and phone in his back pocket.

"Yeah, give me a second." I ran to my room and grabbed my wallet and stuck some money in it. "OK, I'm ready!"

Ed smiled. "So it's just a few blocks. Shouldn't take us too long."

We walked for about 10 minutes down deserted streets, thankfully not filled with people. There were a few people here and there but they didn't recognize us.

I was wearing my black sunglasses and Ed was wearing a hoodie so no one could see his fiery red hair.

"Here it is," Ed smiled and looked up at the sign. He held the door open for me.

'All I know is you held the door...' I sang in my head. I needed to stop thinking of Ed that way-he had a girlfriend.

"Thank you," I walked into a building that had a very friendly atmosphere.

"Hey, sit wherever you'd like!" the manager (I had guessed) warmly greeted us from behind the counter.

We sat down at a table that was near a window. It wasn't a booth, but a table with two wooden chairs. I smiled, happy Ed had found this place.

"So," Ed said and smiled down at the place mats and a two little flowers in a vase on the table.

"This place is lovely, Ed! How did you find it?"

"Did you notice I left Club Red a little early last night?" he smirked.

Our waitress came over to us-she couldn't possibly have been over 17.

"Hello, how can I help you?" she said with fake enthusiasm.

"I'd like some scrambled eggs, bacon, and toast, please." Ed said and handed the menu over to the waitress.

"Um, I'll have pancakes, please," I said and handed her the menu while she walked away with insincerity.

"Well she's happy to be here, isn't she?" Ed chuckled under his breath.

"Yeah," I said and sipped my coffee.

Ed studied me while he stirred in cream and sugar into his coffee. "Taylor," he looked at me gently.

"Yes?" I asked and cupped my hands around my coffee mug.

"The next show is on the 18th, right?"

"Yes, why?"

"Well I was thinking I could visit Vanessa in England on the little break." He then took a sip of coffee.

I tried to fake a smile, pretending I was happy for him. "Oh yeah, of course."

"Great!" he looked so happy, like a little kid opening his presents on Christmas morning.

Soon enough, our food came and I began eating my pancakes. Ed was scarfing down his breakfast. He never failed to make me laugh.
