"Ok, come on Nick, you need to actually help me find the right answer," I say to Nick.

It's the Thursday after Katie's birthday party, and I'm sitting at the kitchen counter in Nick's house, while he attempted to tutor me in maths.

"I'm sorry, but I think playing chubby bunny is a much better way to spend this time," Nicolas says, putting the bag of marshmallows on the counter.

The front door slams shut, and Katie walks in. she's wearing a black skirt, with boots and a white t-shirt. Her hair is in a messy bun, but I feel as though it didn't look like that when she left the house.

"Hey Katie, rough day?" Nick asks, taking out a jug of chocolate milk and pouring three glasses. He offers her the glass, but she doesn't take it.

"Just the same old thing," She says, walking over to the fridge and getting out a carrot. Nick pushes the packet of marshmallows towards her, and she looks at them before taking a bite of her carrot.

"Katie, one marshmallow won't change anything, except put a smile on your face," I say, and she looks at the packet, tempted, then shakes her head.

"No, I'm on a diet. Besides, carrots taste as good as marshmallows," she says, gagging as she takes another bite.

"Congratulations little sis, you are the first person in human history to say that," Nicolas says, picking up a marshmallow and popping it in his mouth.

"Well, if I want to be skinny then I need to eat healthy," Katie says, and Nick rolls his eyes.

"Katie, trust me, I'm eating marshmallows and I still manage to look this good," Nick says, lifting up his shirt to reveal his six-pack. I find myself staring.

"Having a good look, princess?" Nick laughs, letting his shirt drop, and I tear my eyes away, blushing a little. Way to be creepy, Charlie.

"Katie, you're already as skinny as a stick, you don't need to be any skinnier," I say, and she shrugs, biting her carrot again.

"What happened at school today?" Nick asks, eating another marshmallow. Seriously, he is going to lose that six-pack if he keeps eating those.

"A few people teased Mason again, and I felt like I couldn't do anything," Katie says, sitting up at the counter with me. Nick goes to grab another marshmallow, but I slap his hand away, taking the packet and walking over to the pantry.

"Charliiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie," Nick moans, and I tut him, throwing him a marshmallow and then putting it back in the pantry.

"What did Mason do?" I ask, walking back to the counter and sitting on the stool next to Katie,"

"He just thanked them for calling him a weirdo, like he usually does. It's his retaliation," Katie says, and I nod, frowning a bit.

"I think that you should speak to the teachers, Katie. It's not nice to be teased," I say to Katie, and she shakes her head.

"I couldn't do that. The popular girls are talking to me now. I think they might let me into their group, and if I told on them and their boys then they would make fun of me," Katie says, throwing out the end of her carrot and getting her bag and taking it upstairs to her room.

"Their year level seems really mean," I say to Nick, and he nods.

"She's been like this since we came back. We didn't have this trouble in London," he says, and I feel so bad for Katie.

"We didn't have this trouble in our year. I mean, you weren't there, but I assure you it wasn't like this," I say, and he nods again.

"Come on, it's time to do our maths homework," he says, coming over to my side of the bench and sitting down next to me.
