I wake up at 2 in the afternoon, my eyes groggy from sleep. I have a splinting headache, and I wait for 20 minutes before leaving my room and venturing to the outside world.
I walk out into the kitchen where I see Hannah standing making herself some tea, in one of Aug's old shirts. Obviously it's huge on her, and her hair looks like it's been ruffled from sleep. Classic Hannah.
She turns around and sees me, a look of horror spreading across her face.
"My God, Charlie, I thought you were the living dead!" Hannah says, sighing.
"Do I really look that bad?" I ask, taking a Panadol out of the cupboard.
"Yeah, you really do. Don't tell me you got smashed?" Hannah says, eyeing the medicine in my hands.
"No, just did the good old crying myself to sleep routine," I say, grimacing before dry swallowing.
"Oh, Charlie," Hannah says, standing next to me and pulling me into a hug. I don't feel tears spring to my eyes this time.
"I can't cry anymore," I say, pulling away from my best friend.
"That's right, honey, you be a strong independent woman. Don't you shed a single tear no more," Hannah says, and I burst out laughing.
"I meant I can't physically cry anymore, I used it all up last night," I say, and Hannah giggles.
"My bad," she says, and we walk back to my room where we bury ourselves under the covers.
"So, what happened?" Hannah asks, and I sigh.
"I thought he would kiss me. He did lean in, but then he turned away and left me standing there like an idiot," I say, and Hannah gasps.
"I know it doesn't sound like a big deal. Like, he didn't cheat on me or anything and we aren't even together, I guess I just didn't realize how I felt until then," I say, taking a sip of Hannah's tea.
"Charlie, I'm so sorry. And even though Nick is one of my friends, he is a serious prick," Hannah says, hugging me.
"He told me he wouldn't be like the others, that he wouldn't use me. I don't even know what he was using me for. To make better friends? That kind of sounds stupid," I say, frowning.
I had come to the conclusion last night that Nick had been doing what all the others had been; using me. I just didn't know what he was using me to get.
"The fact is that it was a douche move to leave you hanging at your front door," Hannah says, pulling my laptop off the floor and entering the password, pulling up Netflix. Hannah and I know everything about each other, including our passwords to everything.
"Lets watch the beautiful story between Kat Stratford and Patrick Verona to take our minds off this situation," Hannah says, pulling up 10 Things I Hate About You. Hannah knew my pain relief too well.
...
"I'm staying here another night," Hannah says as I come out of the bathroom from my shower.
"What do you mean another? It's Saturday, and yesterday was formal. That would mean..." I trail off. Hannah blushes, and I raise an eyebrow at her.
"Is that why I found you wearing August's shirt this morning?" I ask, and she turns beet red.
"Nothing went on! I just happened to be sleeping in his room last night," Hannah says, and I smirk.
"Did you happen to get changed in front of him?" I ask, and she swats me with a pillow.
"You have a dirty mind sister," she says, and I laugh.
"I'm not dirty, this is a part of lif-" Hannah throwing another pillow at me cuts me off.
"Alright, alright," I say, giggling.
Dad knocks on my open door, trying to get attention.
"Yes father?" I ask, as Hannah sits, with her legs crossed, with me on my bed.
"Nicolas is here to talk to you," dad says, a wary look on his face.
I've had enough honestly.
"Please tell him I do not wish to speak to him," I say, sticking my nose up in defiance.
"Charlie, that's no way to behave," Dad says, and I raise an eyebrow at him.
"Father, dear, he is just like the rest of them-he just wanted to use me. The reason, I am unsure of but I will find out at some stage. I think it is fair that I don't have to speak to him, right Hannah?" I say, and my friend bites her lip.
"I gotta go with her on this one," Hannah says, and dad rolls his eyes.
"Fine, I'll say you're in the shower," dad says, walking out of my room.
I turn to Hannah, smiling.
"What would I do without you?" I ask, leaning my head on her shoulder.
"Well. By now you'd be sulking and hiding under a cover of pillows and tissues, I assume," she says, shrugging.
"That's actually way too true!" I say, and she giggles.Hannah goes out to the kitchen to make us some tea, and I bury deep into my doona.
It's Saturday evening. That means that Monday is the day after tomorrow. That means I will probably see Nicolas.
What am I going to do?

Hi everyone! back with another update!
I'm so sorry that it came so late, I've been extremely busy this past week with assignments and tests, but I've finally been able to post!
So, I know that this chapter is extremely short, but this is more of a filler. The next few chapters are kind of fillers, actually. But they'll all be reasonably short, so in a way that means less time until the climax. WOOHOO!
Thank you all for the comments and the votes, it means a lot. Please keep commenting and asking questions, I'll try to answer them as soon as I can.
I will be writing another story after this one that is a spin-off with one of the other characters, so get pumped! i hope you like it.
Have a great weekend everyone, and be expecting a few updates!
Happy reading :)
