Nick and Charlie

Chapter 40

"Charlie, come help me bring these drinks inside!" Aug yells out, and I come out from the kitchen and over to the car.

"Have you even done anything to help set up for this party?" Aug asks, and I look at him, mock-shocked.

"Excuse me, young sir, I have cleaned the entire house!" I say, slapping him on the shoulder and I grab two bottles of Coke.

It's the night of Aug and I's party, and I have been cleaning up all day while Aug and dad have done the shopping.

It's 6:30, and people are coming around 7:30. I still need to get changed and do my makeup and hair, and I haven't finished tidying up the house. Nick came over this morning and hung fairy lights in the tree, and honestly that distracted me a lot.

I walk into the house and put the drinks down on the bench, then excuse myself to go get ready.

I have a shower, then wrap myself in my dressing gown and get started on my hair. I decide to straighten it tonight, which usually takes ages but I managed to do it tonight in half the time.

I then put on my makeup, making it very subtle. I'm not a big makeup person- it makes my face itchy.

I go into my room and take out the green dress I bought with the girls ages ago. I slip it on, then grab my cream pumps and put them on too. I look at myself in the mirror, bringing my hair to the right side of my face.

I nod, then walk out to the kitchen. It's 7:57 and only Nick, Will, Sebastian, Jane and Hannah are here so far.

"Hey everyone," I say, walking outside where they were standing on the deck.

"Hey princess," Nick says, pulling me into him and kissing me.

"Okay break it up!" Aug says, and I pull away from Nick, laughing.

"Now you know how it feels," Sebastian says, taking a drink from his cup.

Throughout the next hour, more people come. From people in our classes to people Aug plays footy with and people I played hockey with.

Eden shows up, and I smile at him and wave him over.

"Eden, hey!" I say, giving him a hug.

"Happy birthday!" he yells over the music, and I laugh. Nick wanders over to me, and offers Eden a smile.

"Eden, this is my boyfriend Nick. Nick, this is my best friend from hockey, Eden," I say, and Nick shakes Eden's hand.

May turns up two and a half hours late, and she finds her way over to me.

"Where have you been?" I yell, and she giggles.

"I have to make an entrance, don't I?" she says, and I roll my eyes.

We go out to the makeshift dance floor, which is basically the deck, and Justin Bieber's 'Sorry' plays through the speakers.

We sing along until it finishes, and then 'Cheap Thrills' by Sia comes on.

I spend the whole night dancing and talking with my friends, and at about 10:30 dad brings out the birthday cake.

Aug and I stand at the end of the table at the deck, and everyone sings happy birthday to us.

Nick makes his way through so he can stand by my side, and then pulls me towards him.

He kisses my forehead, and then I blow out the candles on the cake with Aug, and everyone cheers.

Nick pulls me away from everyone and over to the big tree in my backyard.

"So princess, what did you wish for?" Nick asks, and I raise an eyebrow at him.

"It wouldn't come true if I tell you," I say, and he takes a step towards me.

"You sure about that?" he says, and smirk on his face.

"100 percent," I say, and he takes another step towards me.

"Please tell me what you wished for," he whispers, putting his forehead on mine. I close my eyes, and smile.

"No way," I say, and he sighs before closing the gap between us. I kiss him back, and everything in this moment feels perfect.

I pull away and smile.

"You know, Charlie and Nick is quite catchy," I say, and he shakes his head.

"No way. Nick and Charlie is so much better," he says, then takes my hand, and pulls me into him.

Well, he's right about one thing; Nick and Charlie fits together so much better.

Hi everyone! It's finally the weekend!

I know I haven't been able to post all week, but I have been SUPER busy with assignments and tests. 

I also know that this update it SUPER short, but I'm having an epilogue so no need to stress! that will be much longer. 

So, that was the last chapter of Nick and Charlie (excluding the epilogue, of course)!

As hopefully all of you know, my next project is a spin-off of one of the characters in this story, but that will be a secret until I actually post the story!
