Seeing each other again (Makoto)

Every time I go to the place where we first met, I cry every time I see the swings.

Why couldn't I run after you, why couldn't I say how I truly feel about you?

Why am I such a coward?, Why did we fight like that?

We never ever fought before, we are always in harmony.

I loved you ever since, but why couldn't I say it?

It all started when Haru and Makoto saw each other once again at Haru's swim competition where he, Rei, Gou, Nagisa, and the old coach was there supporting him. Makoto never felt so happy seeing his best friend living the dream of swimming for ever, even if it meant having to win competitions. Haru placed 2nd in the end, with Rin 1st. After the competition was over, the gang all went to meet Rin and Haru.

"Nice job dolphin!" Coach yelled.

"Thanks coach" Haru replied.

"Haru-chan!" Nagisa yelled with tears flying.

"Nice to see everyone!" Haru commented, everyone was there except something was missing, Haru scanned for Makoto.

"Looking for someone?" Gou asked.

"Umm, no" Haru responded.

"Come on, it's Makoto isn't it" Gou teased.

"Ok yes, where is he?" Haru questioned eagerly.

"He was here a couple minutes ago" Gou clarified.

"Nagisa, there's no more strawberry shortcake at the snack stand" Makoto greeted walking to Nagisa.

Haru heard Makoto's voice and he turned around where his ocean blue eyes met with Makoto's green eyes. Both of them stared at each other and didn't speak at all, until Nagisa pushed Makoto to Haru and Gou pushed Haru. The gang left the two of them alone, while they all met up with Rin.

Makoto's POV

I saw Haru's sparkly ocean blue eyes again and I wanted to just hug him really tight like we use to. But instead I played it cool and just asked how he was doing, and hopefully he forgot about what happened the day he left for Australia. It was the saddest moment of my life.

"Um hello Haru, so how've you been" I commented.

"Oh good, still swimming what about you?" Haru mumbled.

"I'm a swimming coach now and I teach little kids at IWSC alongside coach" I responded.

"That's cool and it has always been your dream after you helped out coach at the swim club" Haru smiled.

"Yea and they are really fast learners and are always excited during lessons" I continued.

After that we both hugged, it was so warm and I didn't want to let go but the gang all came back. Haru then hit the showers, while the gang and I waited.

"hey good job out there Rin, you're the fastest like they say"I complimented.

"Thanks, Haru was too but then he all of a sudden slowed down" Rin replied.

"That's weird, he's always fast something must be going on" I thought.

Anyway, the gang all went to their favorite restaurant and ordered the usual except Haru didn't order mackerel instead he just asked for salad and fruit. I know swimmers need a balance diet but Haru always had mackerel even if he wasn't hungry. Something's changed when I came back to Iwatobi not the scenery but Haru, he's not the one I use to know.

"How was Iwatobi when we were gone?" I asked.

"It was sad at first but then we had new recruitments for the swim club" Nagisa replied.

"Yes, we had over 40 sign up, we had to kick some people out, crazy right" Rei added.

"Wow, I guess getting that trophy at championships even if it was 3rd place really made a difference" I continued.

"You bet it did, we were so busy with training and practice" Gou yelled.

Dinner was delicious like always, everyone went home and I went back to my house where my two siblings happily greeted me. It was nice to see the old place again, I went to my old room it was empty, I reminisced all the memories.
