Chapter 18

After they turn around they also see a familiar face. Luca and a few other men are standing there.

"Luca?" Rafael starts.

"Yes, it's me."

"What are you doing here, do you want to make trouble again?"

"After all what happened, you have a good reason to ask me that, but I can tell you, that I am not here to make any trouble or else."

"Why then are you here and how do you know, that we were here?"

"I can tell you. At first we followed the dead bodies of the undeads. The only living persons in the forest to do that were you, we thought and it also was a little bit of a coincindence, that we found you. Oh, I wanted to tell you why I am here right?"

"Yes!"

"I have some good news for you."

"Which good news?" Ned questions.

"I talked to the village master and he has made an offer."

"What an offer?"

"He offered, that you all can return to the village."

"Just like that? I don't believe that." Laura doubts.

"I also don't believe that. There must be a catch. I mean at first you abducted us and then you took us as prisoners. Don't forget, that you wanted to kill us and then suddenly we can return to the village. There must be a catch." Rose agrees.

"I can understand your doubts and how you supposed there is a catch."

"And what's the catch?"

"You can return to the village on one condition. You have to find Gero and bring him back to the village."

"I think we don't have any interest to do that and anyway we don't know how this Gero looks." Laura opposes.

"But Rafael does know how he looks like and by the way I can hand you out a picture of him." Luca takes a picture of Luca out of his pocket.

"So, this is how he looks like." He says.

"You know what Luca? How she already said we don't have any interest to do that." Rafael confirms.

"Really, but you don't have another choice."

"What is that supposed to mean?"

"I mean you four are walking around the whole day without any place to stay. That's what I mean by saying, that you don't have another choice."

"But it's no problem for us to stay out there."

"Really?"

"Yes, really! And I also believe, that I know the true reason for you being here."

"Which reason would I have? I only want to make peace and I also want you to return to the village."

"Come on, don't try and kid me, I know you well. You are not the type of person to do anything of kindness. I think, that you derive benefit from us to return to the village with Gero in tow. And who says, that it is not a trap? After all I always have been a thorn into your flesh. You never liked me. Think on it. You wanted to kill me, when we fought at the cave tower."

"Okay you are right Rafael, the true reason is, that the village master threated me to reduce me in rank."

"So what? That is not my problem!"

"Please! He said that he got mistrustful to me, because I wanted to kill innocent people!"

"How I already said, that is not my problem!"
