Chapter 41

Ned's illusion...

"Damn, I can't believe it. Where am I?" He takes a look around, but nobody from his group is in the near. He is on his own. A large group of undeads is approaching him. Out of confusion and out of helplessness he tries to move forward. So he does. The undeads keep approaching him. Ned is afraid. He doesn't understand why he is by himself. He just knows that he has to find the others. He doesn't know how to do it.

"What am I gonna do now?" He asks himself. He knows, that if he keeps standing the undeads will get him, that's why he tries to find the others.

"It is such a maze here." There are undeads everywhere. It's getting dicey. Ned hopes, that someone is gonna try to look for him. If no one is gonna try to look for him, then he has to manage that situation on his own. The question is if he will find a way out.

"I will find a way out." Ned talks himself into. He doesn't know what to do now. But that situation is actually familiar to him. When he was in the forest he managed to survive although he was by himself. If he managed to survive at that time, then he could also survive in this situation. Ned is aware, that he is in an illusion.

"I know, that this is an illusion. But I must be here for a reason. Maybe this is a special task that I have to pass and if I do so, I will get out of that illusion. But what could the task be?" Ned is deliberating but he just doesn't get the answer. He believes that he will survive this situation, because it's not real.

Laura's illusion...

Laura is also by herself. She doesn't know how she got into that situation.

"Hey, Ned where are you!" She instinctively calls Ned's name first, supposedly because she knows him best. She also calls the others, but there is no answer. She already experienced that. She feels like she is caught in a deja vu. Because this is happening a second time. But she believes, that someone will come and save her. The someone could be Ned. She is not sure what to do. She moves on. She doesn't encounter any undeads fortunately. But it's just a matter of time until she does. But she already knows how to defend herself.
