It's Saturday and Channing and I got everything that Aaron needs for school yesterday.
We moved out of our house because we were running out of space. Now we own a two million dollar house with seven bedrooms and five bathrooms.
I wake up to Aaron shaking my shoulder.
"Whattt?" I moan, rolling over.
"Channing isn't here and Max is crying. I tried to help but I don't know anything about babies."
I rub my eyes and sit up.
I drag my ass into the living room.
"I made them breakfast." He frowns.
Our family went back home.
I change Max's diaper and eat breakfast.
"When did Channing leave?" I ask.
He shrugs.
"I woke up at six. Max was crying. I came in to wake one of you. Channing was already gone. I tried to wake you, and you just rolled over and went back to sleep.
I frown. "I don't remember that. Thanks for taking care of them though."
He shrugs.
"It's no big deal."
"Channing's been gone since six?"
He nods.
"He was acting weird last night. It's not like him to up and leave without telling me where he's going."
"I know."
I go look around the house for a note, and there's one on his pillow.
Cam,
I frown. Channing always puts Lovebug when he writes notes.
I sigh and restart.
Cam,
Look, I know you're going to be so mad at me for this, but I'm leaving. I don't know for how long, and I'm not going to answer the phone. I'm working through something right now and I just feel all alone. The government is shutting down my pet store all over the place. All my hard work is down the drain. You're so successful. If I stayed, I'd be dragging you and the kids down. I love you so, so much, and I'm really sorry, but I feel like shit and we need to be over and move on. I'm a fuck up and you're extraordinary.
-Channing
What?
I walk out of the room with the note in my hand.
"What's wrong?" Aaron asks.
Silently, I hand him the note.
"What the hell?"
I didn't know they were closing the pet stores.
He worked so hard for them.
I'm the main source for income now.
I dn't care about that.
He left.
He fucking left, he won't answer if I try to call him.
I told Aaron on the ride up that I used to have severe panic attacks.
AARONS'S POV
"Cam?" I whisper.
She's starting at the floor and she's breathing really hard.
"Keep the kids out of my room." She says. "Don't come in until I come out."
