'Vampires are so stupid nowadays.' Noir thought as he walked along the dense forest.
'I can't believe they let their guard down. The night where their Child of the Prophecy is born no less.' He scoffed, looking down on the slumbering child he was carrying.
"He's cute though, for a vamp's baby." He mumbled to himself.
"Wouldn't mind claiming him when he grows up though." He said, grinning at the though of a grown up version of the prince submissive in his bed.
"Talking to yourself now huh? What a creep." Just then, someone was suddenly right beside him making him yelp in surprise.
He turned to the source of the shock just to bow his head in respect.
"Oh, Master Renzo. I certainly didn't expect that it was going to be you who was going to greet me in the rendezvous point." He said.
Renzo Arundell, the head of the Arundell Clan, tilted his head and a smirk started to grow on his face.
"What, am I not in high of a position yet, my dear subordinate?" He mocked, knowing full well of the extent of Noir's greed for political power and the fortune that came with it.
Meanwhile, Noir bristled at what he said. Reminding himself of the consequences that came with attacking a Hunter with a high position in their hierarchy, he managed to calm himself down somewhat.
"I have no idea what you are talking about, Master." He muttered.
Renzo shook his head and decided to drop the issue, for now.
"Mission accomplished, then?" He clarified.
'What do you think, bastard?'
"Of course. It was too easy." Noir smirked as he reminisced the king's scream of agony.
"Well then, let us go to HQ to start the ritual." Renzo stated as he turned around and walked deeper into the forest.
Noir, however, frowned but followed behind at a steady pace. He couldn't shake off the bad feeling that he was having ever since he left those vampires in his wake.
He took this mission for his family, dammit.
"If you accept this mission, a promotion will be given to you and your kin. From branch members to important figures who are respected and then there's a little bit of fear." The Head of the Hunter's Council smirked.
"Now if you are finished daydreaming can you pass me the child?" Renzo scowled.
Without uttering a single word, Noir passed the slumbering baby to the waiting arms of his Master.
"You may now go to your home and come back tomorrow for the official announcement of you and your kin's promotion." Renzo nodded to him and he returned the same gesture back as he walked to the direction of his family's home, excited to tell them the good news. He could imagine them being ecstatic and praising him for the good that he have done their family.
He was slightly wary of his Master, or the rest of the nobles for that matter. He didn't know why but he is always feeling uneasy whenever one of the members are near.
Or maybe it's just their corruption.
All of the Hunters are aware that their Council is corrupt. They also realized that all of the Supernatural World have succumbed to their greed to become powerful. It was so severe that the members of the Council of each Supernatural race demanded to be called nobles.
The issue is that none of them have the courage to oppose a noble like that. Some have dared, but they never saw the light of day again.
He paused for a moment as he felt the temperature getting warmer despite the fact that it was supposed to be cold this night. He strained his hearing when he heard screaming and laughter.
Now worried, he hastened his pace. And then he could see it.
The fire. The burning. The screams, begging, cackling.
"I DON'T WANT TO DIE!"
With a feeling of sheer terror, he rushed to the blazing inferno. Where his family are burning, dying, oh my GOD.
He didn't care about the heat, he didn't care about the falling debris, he just wanted his family safe and sound.
With speed that he never thought he possessed once upon a time, he reached the clearing just in time to see his wife's head falling to the ground.
And then the perpetrator faced him and he was seeing red.
"Gerald, you bastard!" He just attacked in blind rage. He punched and kicked and the bastard was just smirking as he kept dodging the, in his opinion, pathetic advances.
He was just getting angrier and angrier that none of his attacks hit. And then there was the pain in his gut.
He clutched the spot where he was punched while Gerald stood in front of him grinning a lunatic's grin.
"W-why... the fuck did you... kill my family, Gerald?" he gasped in pain.
"Well that was a rather fast and anti-climatic fight, don't you agree?" Gerald cackled.
"Answer my damn question." He managed to punch his enemy square in his face with the other's guard down.
Gerald stood there looking shocked that the wimp actually managed to land a hit on him, but then again, he supposed that he was getting cocky.
"Council's orders." he said.
And Noir's heart skipped a beat. It was going too far. The corruption.
But it all made sense now.
Why the sudden order to let Chris jailed by the vampires and be executed. The reason why the Council was laughing and mocking him the moment he closed the doors behind him. They never intended to give him the promotion. He realized that now. They were too greedy and paranoid to do that. They were too scared that their power would be decreasing once someone else that they do not trust became an important figure. They were afraid that the other Hunters would think that they were going soft by letting a branch family have a high position just like that.
It's the two of them gone for the security of their power.
'Little Prince, please fulfill the prophecy. And I'm sorry.' He thought in despair as he caught sight of his beloved wife's decapitated body.
"Say goodnight~" Gerald laughed gleefully as he raised his sword, the metal reflecting the fire burning giving it a more sinister appearance.
He closed his eyes in defeat.
'I'm sorry.'
He who would bring peace to all three factions...

Meanwhile, a man had stopped playing his violin and looked out of his window. The light that was illuminated by the moon enhanced the brightness of his striking blue eyes.
"Killing two birds with one stone, huh?" He smirk, putting down his violin and bow. "Checkmate."
