We started walking down the street towards Starbucks. I felt really out of place. When I first met Bryce he seemed so welcoming but right now it's like I didn't even exist. After overhearing his conversation with Jacob and Mark I know he doesn't like me. I was walking behind the 3 boys. They were having a conversation like I wasn't even there. I didn't mind though, I'm used to not having many friends. Bryce and Mark seemed to be having a conversation about their YouTube channel but Jacob just stood there. He wasn't even paying attention to the conversation.
After about a 15 minute walk we arrived at Starbucks. We walked in and Bryce, Mark, and Jacob ordered. They just went to sit down as I was left on my own to order. I noticed them sit down at a table near the window with 3 chairs. I took that as a sign that I wasn't wanted so I walked away and sat at a table on my own. As I stared out the window it began to rain. I used to love rain but now it just reminds me of that day. As I was lost in thought I noticed a shadow over top of me. I looked up to see Jacob. "Can I sit?" He asked looking nerves. "Sure" I said looking down again. There was an awkward silence until Jacob spoke "listen" he said "Right now Bryce is being a jerk. He's usually so nice, but he isn't acting like himself at all. I'm really sorry if you don't feel welcome, but I'm sure Bryce will warm up to you" Jacob sighed as he finished and looked down. "Thanks I really appreciate you saying that. It's ok though I'm kinda used to being ignored and all" I replied with a slight smile. "That's too bad, a beati-" Jacob was cut off as Bryce yelled for us since we were leaving. As we walked out I heard Bryce whispering to Jacob. Dude if you're going to whisper actually whisper. "Dude what the hell? Why did you go talk to her?" I tried to listen more but the 3 of them started to walk further ahead. "Hey Maddie" Bryce turned around and said. "Ya" I spoke up. "Can you please go back and grab my phone I think I left it on the table? We'll wait right here for you" "um ok" I said as I turned around. That was weird. He just asked a favour from me. Something didn't feel right. I walked back into Starbucks and looked everywhere and asked everyone but no phone. He probably forgot he grabbed it. As I was leaving I walked out and noticed that Jacob,Mark and Bryce were gone. What? That made no sense. Wait a second. Yes it does. Bryce tricked me. He just wanted to get rid of me.
Ok ok. I thought to myself I'll just improvise. Of course my phone was dead and the rain began to come down harder. I kept walking trying to find the house but every road led somewhere unfamiliar. I gave up. I was drenched head to toe and was completely lost. I sat down against a tree on the curb and just thought. Why would they do that? I finally thought I made friends, but no.
