The twigs under her paws snap at her weight as she darts past. Wind whistling in her ears as the blurry scenery of the woods flash past her watering eyes.

Her white fur bounces in an elegant way at the wind. Sweat rolling down her forehead and landing in the dirt beneath her.

Fear fills her eyes each time she snatches a look behind. The pack of hungry wolves, hot on her heel, chasing after her with lightning speed. Red glows in their eyes, ravenous for the baby that was dangling from her mouth. The closer they get, the faster she runs.

She would never give up her baby, not even if it costed her life. The baby was her only family left and it meant too much to her.

Her body gets weaker and weaker, getting exhausted from all the running.

She glances back once more. As she sees no sight of the pack, she takes advantage and with a sharp turn to the corner behind an ancient brick well, she hits the brakes, landing swiftly behind it. She tries to control her panting, making sure the enemies doesn't pick it up as they pass by.

The pack speeds straight ahead with all the power they had, clueless that she has already turned the opposite direction and has heading towards a small village.

Saltwater lingering at the edge of her eyes, daring to fall any moment.

Making it just before the sunrise, she places her baby in the front door steps of an Orphanage. She leaves a kiss on her forehead as a letter is placed between her small hands. The name Kavina Aelin written on the front with black, cursive writing.

Kavina rolls around on the concrete, grasping the letter closely, not knowing what will happen in the future, not knowing where she will be in the future, and mostly, not having any clue to why her mother has left her.

A tear rolls out her eye and down her face, staining her cheeks as it lands on an 'a', smudging the flick at the end of the letter.

"You will be safe here, darling. Forgive mother for leaving you." Her british accent gets stronger when she's emotional. She swipes her nose with her arm, whispering an 'I love you' as she knocks on the door and hides behind a tree from a far enough distance.

An old lady cracks open the door and pokes her head out, she looks both ways before her eyes lands on the baby. "Oh, sweetheart." She cooed as she picks her up, walking back inside.

The lady's voice enters her ears as she talks to Kavina with a baby voice. "So young and already has a tattoo. Looks like someone will be coming back for you."

Tears roll down her cheek uncontrollably. She wipes them away harshly, scolding herself for being weak. She takes one more look at the door, making sure she's safe before fleeing.

I always thought my life was all about running wild in the woods and killing deers. The thought about living with humans never crossed my mind. Even till this day I still don't believe it. Ever since my biological mother left me, my mind was full of reasons why she would leave me. But after all, nothing seemed to be relevant. I know I wouldn't just abandon my child without a satisfied explanation, so why would she?

I stared out the glass panes as the sky is still a dark shade of blue mixed with a tad of purple. A silver moonlight spilled into the room, not enough to shine light in every corner but enough to navigate the whereabouts of my bed and a few small objects. The sky's freckled with stars, hanging loosely next to each other, shining brightly as they danced in the sky. A sigh rolls out of my mouth automatically, knowing what today is. It's 5:18AM and I was supposed to be up eighteen minutes earlier. But I couldn't care less. The sounds of footsteps tell me that Mom and Ash are already awake.
