"Goodness..." I whisper, staring up at the mansion. And here I thought Damon and Stefan's house was big. What do you even put in a house this big, there aren't enough carpets in the world.
"Close your mouth, it's impolite." I glare at Damon, wrapping my arm around his as we enter the light filled mansion. What do you even call the room you walk into, I don't know.
Wow, that's one hell of a chandelier..
"So where is Elena? Shouldn't she be the one accompanying you tonight?" I ask, watching all the men and woman stroll around the room in each others embraces. I instantly think of Niklaus, how I wish he was here with me right now. How I wish we could dance together. And him in a suit! Too gorgeous.
"Let's just say Elena isn't a subject of discussion" he answers simply and I don't press for answers. It's his business and I respect that, I'm just a hostage.
We make our way further into the room, catching a waiter for some champagne. I look at Damon confused as he picks up two glasses off the tray. "We're going to have a quick chat with the mayor" he says, answering my question before I even ask it.
I take a quick sip before following Damon off to come face to face with a middle aged brunette woman. Her golden dress is beautiful and none the less looks beautiful on her.
"Hello Carol" Damon greets, passing her the glass of champagne which she gladly takes. "Hello."
"Hanging out with your new besties?" He asks with a smirk before bringing his glass to his lips.
"I'm the mayor, Damon. When the oldest deadliest family of vampires move into your town, you welcome them, with a smile."
My whole world crashed down around me. Niklaus. He's here. He's hosting this ball?! I should've known Damon brought me here for his own evil agenda. How could I have been so stupid?! Never mind that, the love of my life is here, I can see him, he can bring me home.
My head frantically looks around, trying to spot his gorgeous dirty blonde hair.
Damon grabs my arm in warning, knowing I figured out he's here. I would've made him regret laying a hand on me but we're in public and the last thing I want to do is make a scene. I simply hide behind him, not wanting the mayor to ask questions.
"Well at least you know who you're borrowing that cup of sugar from" he joked with Carol. "I'm trying to protect this town. They've assured me they want peace and I've assured them that I'll in force it."
I continued to search but no such luck. God, I need to see him.
"Mayor Lockward, we haven't formally met, Kol Mikaelson. I hope your lovely town embraces us as much as we plan to embrace it."
I instantly come out from behind Damon to see my former best friend. Kol. He doesn't look at all different, just short brown hair instead of a ponytail. I grin widely and go to speak but, nothing comes out.
"Faith? What are you doing here?" Kol asks and again I try to speak but no sound escapes my mouth. What's going on?! He stares at me confused and goes to touch my arm but instantly pulls back with a groan of pain. I look at his hand and it's burned, just like it would be if he touched revain. What the hell...
"Pleasure to meet you Kol. We'll be going now" Damon grabs my arm and takes me away from him. Why isn't Damon pulling away in pain like Kol? I look back and Kol looks starstruck and still utterly confused.
I pull back on Damon's grip, causing him to holt. "What the hell did you do to me?!" I was glad to hear sound come out of my mouth, this is screwing with my head.
