(Della's POV)

I woke up to the sun shining in my face. I got up and walked over to the window, shutting the curtains. I looked around and noticed something was missing, but what?
Braelyn was still on the couch, her wounds now treated. Kat was sleeping in an old worn recliner. Gareth was sleeping on the floor, he insisted we take the furniture. Casey was...nowhere to be seen?
"Casey! Casey, where you at? Casey?"
I couldn't find her, and I looked through the whole house. I was about to look outside when something caught my eye.
There was a note on the dining table with Casey's messy handwriting on it.

Hey, whoever finds this first, I went back to the farm. That man had a terrible view on the world and somebody needs to stop him, if nobody else will do it, I will. Sorry I left without saying goodbye, I just felt this had to be done. Take care of Braelyn, I cleaned her wounds last night so she should be good, and waking up soon. I should be back soon, now that I know what this guy's all about, I can get the drop on him.
Be back soon,
Casey

I folded the note up and put it in my pocket. I walked back to where I slept and sat down. I decided if nobody else was up and Casey wasn't here, I would find a way to pass the time.

*Time Skip*

We had all finished our brunch and we're now doing whatever it is that we all do.
I was reading some uninteresting book I had found on a shelf upstairs. Gareth was staring at a bug on the wall. Kat was looking through movies this person had, even though the electricity was out. Braelyn was sleeping now, her sleep seemed to be a little lighter than it had been, she tossed and turned every now and then.
My reading was soon interupted by a noise from outside. I just figured it was Casey getting back. Then it occurred to me, Casey knows better than to make that much noise.
I got up and walked to the front door and opened the curtain. There was a hoard of walkers coming down the road.
"Guys get all the supplies you can! We've got to get out of here, there's a hoard of walkers outside and they're coming straight for the house!"
They all started running around, grabbing things that were needed. When all the supplies were gathered I ran to the back door and threw it open. The rest followed me, but Gareth stopped.
"What about Braelyn? We can't just leave her here."
"Gareth, we don't have time for this! I don't want to leave her here either but she'll slow us down and we can't afford to lose time against that hoard."
He looked back over to Braelyn and I could see he was about to say something promising then stay here and protect her, but I yanked his jacket sleeve and flung him outside.
"Let's go Gareth!"
We heard the front door being hit and we all started running. I looked back at the house and the hoard was bigger than I'd thought. I started running faster, and in response, so did the other two.
We soon were out of the view of the hoard, and the house. Casey still wasn't back, and I had just abandoned Braelyn. What had I done?
We ran for a while but we got tired and decided to rest for the night in an old she'd on the side of the road. We had checked it and taken some supplies from it, but not many we already had a lot.
I lay down on the floor of the shed, the exhaustion of the day had me, and I slipped into dreamless sleep.
