Squids POV
After Kate was dragged away I walked over to where the other boys were. They smiled when I reached them, after being silent for a while X-Ray spoke.
"So do you like Kate?" He smiled at me. "I don't know. Why?" He just shrugged his shoulders and once again talked with the other guys. In all honesty I do like Kate, but I can't tell anyone. What if she doesn't like me back? If I told people it would spread around camp and then it would be awkward for us both. I shook my head to rid me of my thoughts and followed the other Campers who had started making the walk to where we would have to serve our punishment which was to dig holes.
Kate's POV
"So what did Squid tell you? I saw you blushing when i was talking to the other boys. What did he say? Did he ask you to be his girlfriend? Or did he say that he likes you too?" I smiled at Kallista as she went on and on about my "alone time" with Squid. I had already told her he just wanted to tell me something that wasn't important. "Well anyway when I was pulled over by Armpit earlier they asked me if I liked Zigzag, I didn't have an answer because Zigzag was standing there with them so all I could say was "it's classified." That's when I came over and saved you. I laughed at my friend. She laughed with me and then we followed everyone else to the place we were to dig holes.
Hours have passed and the sun is starting to set making it harder for the people facing its direction. We all looked up when we heard the familiar sound of the water truck coming towards us kicking up dust as it went. After needed some help getting out of the hole I dug, I got in line to receive my water and "lunch" with everyone else from D-Tent.
Zig-zag grabbed some extra crackers and went over to Stanley and Zero. I looked at Kallista with a unknown expression, but that's when all hell broke loose.
