The river runs strong and boundless

Over sand and rocky shore

It's spirit flows over the land

The river is free

The old elm tree grows solid and tall

Proudly reaching for the sun

It shelters the earth's creatures with it's boughs

The elm is free

The bird it flies in the cerulean sky

It's wings catch the wind and it dances

Along the currents of air

The bird is free

The night it comes swiftly

On bated breath and soft feet

Covering the land in it's blanket of black

The night is free

I run along the river

I run past the elm

I run under the bird

I run through the night

I run and I run until my feet bleed

Hoping the might as well be

Free.
