Chapter 2; Shape Shifted

Kaya's POV

The next morning at school I didn't see anyone so I just went and got my stuff. I had a free period first today so I grabbed my notebook shutting my locker before it got completely silent and Alison and the girl from last night, uh Lydia walked by.

" Hey Kaya! This is Lydia! I guess you guys met last night, anyways I was wondering if you wanted to come watch lacrosse practice with us?" Alison asked as she put her coat in her locker.

"Sure, and I love your dress Lydia!" I said following them toward toward the field.

"Thanks! So do you know anything about lacrosse?" She asked as we walked up the bleachers. I shook my head no and they started to explain it when practice started. Scott ran out of the goal and tackled the other player before smelling them?

"Um, is that normal?" I asked and they shook their heads no, huh. Scott repeated to do this until he hit another boy that got called out by the cops. When the practice was over I headed toward the principals office for a "new student" talk or something. When I got there the sheriff was interviewing Jackson, Lydia's ex-boyfriend. I learned about him during lacrosse practice. I walked into the principals office, and to my surprise the principal ended up being Allison's Grandpa, the same one from the funeral!

"So, Kaya. I see you made friends with my granddaughter" he started keeping a firm glare on me "And all of the other members of her little clique."

"Yeah, I guess. They are all really nice here!" I responded with a fake smile trying to hide the fact I was getting creeped out by him.

"Kaya, do you believe in the supernatural? Like werewolves?" He asked with a very serious look on his face.

"Uh, no, not really." I said shuffling in my seat as I played nervously with my hands.

"Well just be careful tonight, its a full moon." He said and shuffled me out of the door. When I walked out Scott and Stiles were sitting waiting to see him. When I caught their eyes they gave me a scared look and followed Mr. Argent into the office. I made my way to my next few classes and lunch. I barely made it through the whole day without falling asleep. When school ended I drove home to quickly finish my homework which actually ended up taking about an hour and a half. When I was done my mom still wasn't home from the police station so I decided to bring her dinner. I hopped in my Prius and drove to the nearest Wendy's to get her her favorite Caesar salad. It was already getting dark out which is unusual for me considering it got dark later in the day in Chicago. I drove up to the station to see the cops talking to the boy that got pulled out of practice. When I walked into the station our eyes met for only a second as he quickly darted them away following one the deputies to the back where the holding cells were.He is a cute boy with golden curls flopping on his head, he had a black eye that I figured was from lacrosse and he was muscular his tight shirt showing off his defined back muscles. I gave my mom her salad before she got a call requesting her out in the field.

"Kaya sweetie, can you watch the front desk while I'm gone." She asked grabbing her talkie from behind the desk. I nodded my head as she ran out the door. The station is pretty dead this time of night but I heard some rustling in the back where the boy was. While I was lollygagging in the back office I heard the bell ring signaling someone had come in.

"Good evening how can I help you?" I asked not looking up until I finished reading the boy in the back's files, his name is Isaac.When I looked up I saw a tall hot, and I mean like David Beckham hot, man clad in a leather jacket.

"Hi." He said with an awkward smile

"Hi." I responded dumbly, nice one Kaya.

"Um, I have a question. Sorry I'm a little thrown. I wasn't really expecting someone so.."

"So young?" I said cutting him off.

"No, so beautiful." He responded causing me to blush.We continued small talk until we heard the fire alarm go off and a loud crash in the back.

"We should probably go check that out." He suggested running in front if me, and was already 3/4's of the way down the hallway when I got to the end of the desk. I ran to the back to where I knew Isaac was and what I saw was horrific. Derek, the man from the front desk, and Isaac looked like they were half wolf half human. I let out a shriek causing Isaacs attention to shift from Stiles to me. Before he got to me Derek let out a loud rawr that made Isaac stumble back.

"How'd you do that?" Stiles asked sitting up straight now.

"I'm the alpha now." Derek responded looking at Stiles then at me, he was fully human now. "Now what to do with you." He said focusing his attention to me. He started walking toward me and then I saw black.
