Chapter four
I don't think my kitchen has ever been so full of food.
Keaton's sweets covered the counters and table. Boxes stacked on top of each other, side to side.
Walking to our bedroom, Keaton was laying out his scrubs he was supposed to where at the college. "I called this place, they're willing to pay for my scrubs. And the place I bought my school books from are willing to give me my full money back!"
"That's great." I smile.
Keaton looks to me, only now do I notice the phone he's holding to his ear. He grins at me and giggles.
I feel my face redden and sit on the bed.
"Ok, love you too. Bye." Keaton turns to me again. "That was so funny! Oh my god!" He breaks off giggling.
"Who were you talking too?" I ask.
"Amanda, why? Jealous?" He teased.
"Actually, I am." I admit.
Keaton blushes.
Standing up, I quickly shrug my jacket on. "I've got to get to work, see you tonight."
With that I walked out the door with Kyle on my heels. "You're gonna leave him here?"
"I won't make him suffer in my office again."
"We'll alright."

Keaton was sitting on the floor counting out money when I arrived home. He looked at me shyly before holding it up. "Look! Five hundred and eighty dollars! Each text book sold for two hundred and each scrubs for thirty."
"That's great." I smile at him tiredly before stripping to my boxers and crawling into bed.
I listen to Keaton shuffle around before the lights turn off and he crawls into bed with me.
~~~~~~~
The week seemed to pass by too quickly, Hardly anything happened. I went to work, and Keaton searched for work.
But today, Keaton and I would be meeting with Linda's father to discuss the price for the old restaurant he was selling.
Keaton bounced around the room nervously. "Oh god! I'm so excited!"
Tucking in my dress shirt, I looked up to him. "You buttoned up your shirt wrong."
His shaking hands managed to undo a button before I took over and fixed his shirt. "What if he decides to not sell it?"
"He's going to sell it anyway. To you, or someone else."
Keaton snorts. "Encouragement."
Arriving at Linda's house Keaton nervously clutched the box of samples he had made for this.
Linda invited us in with a big smile, mostly to Keaton.
"He's in my living room." Linda guides us to her living room where a old man sits in a armchair focused on a book.
"Daddy, this is Keaton, he's interested in buying your restaurant from you and turning it into a bakery." Linda sits on a couch and motions Keaton and I to sit on the love seat across from them.
Keaton sets the box of sweets on a glass table sitting between them. "Hello." He says softly.
"Why are you interested in buying my building?" The old man grunts.
"I want to open up a bakery-"
"I heard Linda. Why should I sell it to you?"
Keaton looks to me before back to Linda's father. "Because I want to bake."
