ODESSA RAN inside her apartment. Sam following close behind her. As Odessa turned towards the bedroom, she stopped when she saw a shadow on the bedroom. The shadow turned to face her with a gun. How did they get here so fast? Odessa wondered.
Odessa lifted up her hands in a peaceful way. "Just put the gun down. I have got enough attacks for today." Odessa told the shadow.
"Where's Rogers?" He asked her. Odessa did not answered. "Who are you?" The man asked her, even though he knew who she was. He had watched her talk, dance, kiss with Steve. He had maintained close surveillance on the star spangled man for months now. Silently waiting the right moment to approach him. The surveillance paid off, since this morning he had avoided a RPG against him and the blonde woman that was with him; who was currently standing in front of her.
"Dessa, why are you..." Sam started, but stopped when he noticed her frozen state. Odessa knew she was not bullet proof, so she tried not to be shot by him. Sam looked at the shadow that was pointing at Odessa. From the angle that he had, he could see the unknown's man structures. "Ghost?" Sam mumbled. The man turned towards him.
"Answer my question, please." The man asked nicely. He hated to point the gun at the innocent blonde in front of him - who he noticed - that seemed to come from a battlefield. Her hands were shaking, and her her were glossy.
"I don't know." Odessa told him confidently. "But right now I don't have the time to talk about it. I got three people trying to kill me, and trust me. I'm not in the best mood. Just go away and leave me in peace." Odessa snapped at him.
James set down his gun, but soon regret it when he saw a person break the window behind Odessa. He reached for her, and pulled her to the bathroom, using his metal arm to stop the bullets. Odessa looked down at the bullet shells that ticked to the floor. Odessa looked at him amazed by what he did. "What did you do that for?" Odessa asked him.
James did not answered back, but instead checked that she was not hit by a bullet. "Are you okay?" He asked her. Odessa nodded, finally recognizing the face.
"Bucky. James Buchannan Barnes." Odessa said to him, while kicking the tube under the bathroom sick. She kicked it again, sighing as it will not open. "I knew I shouldn't have glued it too much." Odessa mumbled to herself.
"Yeah, that's apparently my name." James told her taking his eyes away from the men. James turned to her. "May I?" James asked her, handing her his gun. "Don't shoot me. Shoot at the people outside." James told her as he lifted up his shirt sleeve. Odessa moved towards the foot of the door, and used the reflection of the men outside. Odessa counted them before shooting them out. One, two, three, four: all of them fell to the floor. James broke the tube. From the tube it fell two guns, and two bags of bullets. James turned to look at Odessa. This time, he was the one amazed.
"Sam?" Odessa yelled, hoping he was okay.
"I'm good. Stay there while I get my wings." Sam yelled from his position.
Odessa turned around to face James, who was loading the guns. "You missed a spot." Odessa told him, kicking the wall behind the tube. The wall opened, reviling a bag and set of explosives. James looked at the the weapons and backed at Odessa with a surprised expression. "You have to be prepared if you are Captain America's girlfriend." Odessa told him, giving her a small smile. "Odessa, nice to meet you." Odessa told her, showing him his hand. James hesitated before shaking it. Little did he know that will be the cause of his heartbreak in just a couple of days. "So, I'm guessing you finally came to your senses and decided to talk to Steve. That's nice of you." Odessa told him.
