My Secret Past

Chapter 3

          Harper's P.O.V

                I'm about to die. I get to shift for the first time. I woke up to birds chirping. This day was gonna be great. I can find my mate before I shift so this day may get exciting. I went downstairs after taking a shower and putting on my favorite pair of jeans and my best fancy shirt with my hair curled and my makeup done to perfection. When I got downstairs I smelt something delicious. When I walked into the kitchen I saw mom cooking my favorite bacon, pancakes, and strawberries. Yum.

       When I got done eating my delicious breakfast I noticed that my brother was missing. " Where's Blake?" I asked. He is usually always here for my birthday. "He had to go to school early. He said he would meet you there." I nodded. It seemed logical. But, I could see mom was lying a bit. Remember werewolf hearing. I could hear her heartbeat rise when she spoke. But I wasn't going to push the subject.

         After I said thanks to my mom for the breakfast I went and got into my black 4-Runner. I loved this car. My family always wanted for me go places and pick up stuff or take my brother somewhere. Well, that's the downside of having a car and a brother.

      I pulled into the parking lot and walked into the school. When I went to my locker I smelt the most amazing scent I have ever smelt. The fresh smell of trees and the autumn leaves that fall from the branches.  I was intoxicated by the scent it smelled so good. I ran into a wall but Cullina stopped me.

     "Why did you almost run into a wall?" she asked. " I keep on smelling this amazing smell." she just about face palmed into the wall because she looked like she was so excited she was about to the point of tears. " It could be your mate." she practically yelled in my ear. She was jumping up and down like a girly girl at a dance party. "Hey, watch were hearing here. You almost busted my ear drum." she smiled and apologized and continued to have a big goofy grin on her face. Cullina won't find her mate for another two months or so.

      As I walked through the hallways I spotted Ashley and walked over to her. She smiled at me and went back to digging through her locker. "What are you doing?" I asked her. She had this anxious look on her face. " I have lost my history essay. If I don't turn it in Mr. Renner will kill me. " she freaked. "Calm down Ashley. It's probably in at your house or something." she nodded then realization struck her face. She smacked her forehead. "I know what I did with it." "What?" I asked. "I left it in the seat of my car." she then ran outside to get it which left us standing alone for another ten minutes till class starts.

                                                                             *6 hours later*

        I was sitting in the hallway. I keep having shooting pains up my back. All over I feel like someone's stabbed me. I get up because I still have to go to gym. Just gym and I'm done. I walk into the gym and smell that intoxicating scent hit me again. I kept trying to think that my mate was here besides that aching pain but soon it was so bad I just passed out and that's all I remembered.

                                                              *After Harper wakes up*

       I wake up to that same intoxicating smell but not as strong but its all over me. "Hey honey." mom says she's probably been there for a while. "Hey mom. What's happened?" I asked. "When you blacked out Blake ran over and caught you before you hit the ground." she explained. "Hey, mom?" "Yea Honey." "I think I found my mate. But, I don't know what he looks like but I feel like his scent is all over me." she nodded with a look of grief on her face. "I know who your mate is sweety." she said. I jumped up. "Really who?" I literally screamed. "Honey calm down ill  let him tell you. Blake." she yelled at him. "Mom what's going on."

       "I'm not your mom. Your adopted." she said I just stood there frozen. But, not for long because that same intoxicating scent of fresh trees and autumn leaves floated around me. I followed the smell to the kitchen where Blake stood making pizza. He slowly turned around and sees me then smiles "Hey, glad your okay. How are you feeling?" he asked worry in his eyes. "I'm fine. Hey Blake?" I asked. "Yea." he looked into my eyes.  Now all I see is fear. "Why do you smell amazing like fresh trees and autumn leaves?" I asked. "We're mates Harper." he said. I just stood there in shock. But, he's my brother. Wait no he's not my brother he's my non-brother because I'm adopted.

       I can't believe this is happening. It can't be . This is not possible. This cannot be happening. I started to hyperventilate. Blake kept on holding my face shouting stuff at me but I couldn't hear anything. I was just standing there in complete and utterly shock. That was until darkness started to surround me and I was trapped in an inevitable oblivion.

    Hey guys it's me. I am so sorry updates have been so hard to keep up. School sucks. I practically hate TCAP's now. So now I have essay after essay after essay. Yep my personal problems don't matter. Sorry. But, I will try to update as soon as possible. Byyee.
