"Dad!!!" You yell and run into his embrace. "I thought you were dead." He whispered, starting to cry.
"I've been with Merle. Wait..." You say pulling away from the hug. "Is Daryl Dixon crying?" You finish your sentence, laughing.
"Ya got me, baby girl. If you've been with Merle, then do ya know where Glenn n' Maggie are?" He says in a serious tone.
"No, why?" You said with your eyes wide. He takes your hand and walks you up to the prison.
Everyone welcomed you and then you saw Michonne, locked in a cell. "Andrea didn't come with you?" You asked and she looks up. "No. Are you okay? You were with Merle when he came to get me." She says with worry clear in her eyes.
"I'm fine. Yeah, about that,... Merle killed all of the men that were with us. Then, we came upon these stores and he said that he..." You say then pause in realization. "Saw bad people and sent me back to Woodbury. Oh, God. I always had to wrap Merle's hand when he came back from 'talking to the governor'" you finish, putting air quotes around the last part.
You turn to your dad and Carl. "I have to go back." You say frantically and run out of the prison. You can hear your dad calling your name but you just run out of the prison gate and back to Woodbury.
When you make it to Woodbury, you head straight to where Meryl always 'talked with the governor'.
You hear yelling inside and you run in. "Stop!!!" You yell as you see Merle beating Glenn shitless.
"Get out of here!" Merle yelled as you started to cry. "Please, Merle. You need to stop. Please." You beg, walking toward him.
*after escaping Woodbury*
"I'm leavin' with my brother. (Y/n), come on." Your dad says after yelling at Rick and Glenn. He starts to walk away. "No." You said breaking into tears.
"Well, you're safer with them anyway." He says as he and Merle walk into the wood. "I love you too, dad." You whisper to yourself but Rick, Glenn, and Maggie hear you.
"He'll be back. I promise." Maggie says as you grew angrier. "Yeah. He'll come back with Merle and you'll send him away again!" You yelled.
Maggie backed away and you calmed down. "I'm sorry. I've got my dads temper. I'm just mad at him." You say starting to cry. Rick hugs you and you all drive back to the prison.
When you get there Carol and Carl are at the gates. When you all get out Carl and Rick hug and then Carl goes to you. Carol asked where Daryl was and Rick told her about the incident with Merle.
"I'm sorry, (y/n)." Carl says while hugging you tighter. "It's fine." You say and squeeze him.
"(Y/n)?" He says as he pulls away.
"Yeah?"
"Can I tell you a secret?"
"Of course."
"I love you." He whispers in your ear.
It sent shivers down your spine. "I love you too." You whisper back. He leans in and so do you. When your lips meet, they move in sync.
When you pull apart, you both smile as wide as possible. "Will you be my girlfriend, (y/n)?" He says and sighs. "Yes." You say and hug him again.
