Author's Note: Hey I'm back and to let you all know that this story is obviously not abandoned. But thanks to all who have commented and leaved encouraging comments. They truly did help me and even inspired me to keep on writing. So keep the comments coming and of course the votes too. Thank you all so much and hope you enjoy this chapter.
Naruto had skillfully entered the large building. The building had been painted red when it had been first built.
From decades of heat - declining the newness of the building as time passed - but still the building remained same as it looked when the Lord First and Second first introduced the Shinobi Academy along with the foundation of the village's belief in the Will of Fire.
He had been sitting in his supposed seat for the better half of the early morning. He had been excited ever since he had parted ways from Kurama the night before and had gotten some much needed sleep.
Late, he was not going to be.
He was going to be brilliant. That was his goal. He wanted to show the nine-tails within him that he wasn't going to give up; that he wasn't worthless as a ninja; that he wasn't worthless to have by the fox's side.
He no longer would be the village's dead last. He wanted to surpass everyone who thought he could not make it. Especially, the villagers who said he couldn't amount to anything - because he was a "freak" and/ or monster".
He could hear the early bird's song through the open windows. The morning cool breeze sifting into the classroom - he quite enjoyed the soft sounds of the singing birds. Finding it relaxing, while waiting for the class to start. Closing his eyes - within his head he could hear Kurama's deep voice,
Kit, you will do fine.
"I hope so too, Kurama. " he replied mentally - thinking it would look weird if he was talking to himself in an empty room.
He did not want to earn the reputation of being "crazy" to add onto the list of names that had already been grouped to him.
An hour passed - a timid girl was lead to the classroom by an upperclassmen he assumed. Her hair was navy blue and eyes of lilac - she walked in both of them meeting each other's eyes - as she shied her face away. Naruto could see her cheeks redden.
"I think she likes you, kit. "
No. She couldn't like me, he thought as the timid girl sat behind him.As she sat down many of the other students filed in until the room was filled.
Instead of the nice sound of the early bird's song - the room was now filled with other voices talking about how it was great that they would be learning how to be ninja's.
And , of course the occasional glares and whispers of names that were associated with him.
Naruto however ignored them it wasn't long until a teacher walked in and introduced himself as "Iruka"
"Good morning, students. From today and up toward your graduation I will be your teacher - any questions and concerns you have are to be brought up to me - now how bout a pop quiz to see how much you know. "
Sighs and shouts could be heard - however Naruto remained quiet and aloof. He glanced at his peers and from that simple action he couldn't see them as equal. Here he was sitting in the academy ready to learn the most he could coming from absolutely nothing. And, here are them coming from privileged or well off families thinking that being a ninja was some kind of game.
Iruka asked a series of questions and to Naruto's dismay none of his classmates could answer with the right answer. Well until he asked a emo-looking boy - his name was Sasuke Uchiha. Yeah Naruto felt for him - he heard about the Uchiha massacre and he truly felt sorry for him. It had been an awful and bloody massacre leaving him to be the only survivor.
"Now it's your turn Naruto. " Iruka announced taking a short glance in his direction and reverting his eyes back to the papers full of questions he continued, "Now Naruto - what is the most important thing you have to remember when you take leave for missions?" His question took Naruto a couple of minutes to really think through.
"Kurama? Do you know?"
Naruto asked within his mind. "I'm not going to answer for you, kit. If you can't think of the answer on your own you're not worth much to me. " his deep voice uttered.Naruto really thought about it. The most important thing to remember during a mission when away from the village is that..., it was like a light bulb came on from within his mind.
"The most important thing to remember, Sensei is that when we are tasked with a mission we have to remember that we are Shinobi - we are tools for achieving our village's goals, and that emotions are considered unnecessary things when dealt with a hard situation. That in order to survive we have to think and strategize our next move. And, think of our team mates - only thinking of yourself will get you and your teammates killed. " (I really hope that made sense? I tried really hard to make the answer flow right. If not please say something, or propose a new answer for me, thanks. )
Naruto finished there were no short whispers or comments. Naruto had awed everyone with that serious answer. Even leaving Iruka speechless until he stumbled with his response.
"Nice answer kit. Couldn't have said it better myself. " Kurama stated within Naruto's mind earning a small smile at the edge of Naruto's lips.
Yes, he was going to be the best. And, he would. After all, he had the help of Kurama the nine tailed fox. At least some of the time he did - and that is what truly mattered.
They - the villagers - would see that they pointed their hate to the wrong person.
One day he would become so much more in each of their eyes.
The End. Till next time....
Also this chapter was not edited since I don't have anyone to go over my work. So all grammatical errors are my own.
