First and Last Year

The sky was alight with orange and blue hues the wind whipped around as the morning birds chirped their song.

Naruto sat a top of the stone-faced mountain - the faces of past leaders forever carved and forever overlooking the village - the same village each leader had lead and protected until their last dying breath - the very village Naruto had once wanted to lead. His training had been vigorous - the fox could be quite taxing...

His eyes remained closed - breathing in and out repeating it several of times that's when he felt it. The chakra deep within him. His main problem was chakra control. In order to keep his promise he had to learn rather quickly how to maintain perfect control.

Good kit. He heard his inner fox state...it was the only thing he said.

With Kurama's help he knew everything would be set for perfection and he aimed to be that.
On top of chakra control he had Kurama teach him history - he quickly noticed that he knew a lot. Which was quite surprising since he could remember his daily naps with Shikamaru during class. It was amazing that Shikamaru knew anything since Nara's were known to be quite lazy.

The Graduation Exam would be just in six months for the the last year of Academy students. He would make sure it was he who was included and to make that happen he decided to get the old man involved knowing if he had a recommendation from the Hokage himself then the Academy wouldn't ignore his attempt at graduating  early. Knowing the villagers and there biased opinions about the demon child - he remembered the hated and heated looks he always wanted to know why he was so different from other children his age. Why he was singled out....

Enough Kit. The past should stay the past. There's no use looking back at vague memories. Use your emotions to pick yourself up. Well that was one way Kurama could cheer him up.

With his patience for meditating gone Naruto stands and leaps from his place intending on seeing the man he thought as a grandpa. Pushing Chakra to his feet it added power in his leap making his way across a couple of buildings until he reached the center of the village where the Hokage took up residence.

"So let me get this straight. You want to participate in the graduation exam?" A gruff voice shouted - a boy clad in a similar version of his orange jumpsuit, but had less orange then the other stood in-front of the most powerful ninja in there village.

Hiruzen Sarutobi - the third Hokage had been sitting and filling in the monster load of paper work - it was the bane of each Hokage's existence - when Naruto had bypassed the door and appeared in the middle of his window reminding him of his student he had so long ago.

It came to the Hokage's complete shock - Naruto's request to take the graduation exams knowing full well about Naruto and the villagers and what it could mean and lead to.

"Old man please. I know everything. " Hiruzen lifted his brows in question, "hmmm..."
"I know about the nine-tails and about my parentage. "

Shortly after Kurama had helped Naruto with his training - the fox had revealed Naruto's true parentage for a reward at grasping the knowledge he had spoken and given. Naruto had been angry - then that anger turned into acceptance and with that acceptance came a goal; a goal to surpass - to not be that "dead last" everyone seemed to think of him.

He watched as the Hokage eyed him and gave him a sigh, "then it shouldn't come to a big shock when I tell you I can't accept this. "

"What!! Come on!!!"

"Quiet Naruto!" Hiruzen shouted and continued, "but I can help you. I can't let you graduate early - but I can offer you a rare chance. "

Naruto stood there calming himself down. Waiting to hear what this proposal was, "join the ANBU within the first year I promise you will be at captain level. "

Naruto face's turned into an all out grin.
