Unexpected Love

Chapter 15

The next time I saw Ginny, we were passing one another in the hallway. I was on my way to a first year class when I felt as if someone was staring at me. Sure enough, there she was, glaring at me from the other side of the hall. I know I shouldn't have, but I did...I flicked my wand and levitated her upside down.

"AH!" She screeched, "Get me down from here!"

With a smirk on my face, I did as she asked and she landed on the ground with a thud!
Oops..

"Miss Granger?"

Oh bloody hell...

"Professor?" I asked, turning to Professor Flitwick.

He gave me a strange look, "Hm...never mind, carry on."

Didn't he see me mess with Ginny? Why didn't he say anything?

"Hermione?" A voice called behind me.

"Yes?" I asked, turning around.

Toward me came Oliver Wood.
"We have a bit of a situation on the field..."

As Oliver led me outside, I saw it. I couldn't help but gasp as I crumbled to the ground. There, in front of us, was the dark mark high in the sky.
"Who..."

"I'm afraid I don't know." Oliver said, "As soon as I saw it, I came to find you."

"I-I can't do anything for this...we need Mcgonagall now." I told him as he helped me to my feet.

"Some of Voldemort's followers still believe he'll come back some how...maybe it's just to frighten us. Everyone and their owl knows Harry is at Hogwarts." Oliver said, "I'll get Mcgonagall."

As Oliver left I couldn't help but think of what this could possibly do to Harry.
All of the bad dreams he used to have...would they come back? Would he react the way he did with me just a year ago?
I can't risk that.

Quickly, I scrambled to my feet and bolted towards the door. I had to find Harry...I had to make sure he didn't see the dark mark.

"Hermione?!" Ron yelled as I ran passed him.

"Ronald?!" I asked still running.

"Where the bloody hell are you going?!" He called.

"I need to find Harry!" I exclaimed.

"He's in the common room!" He said, "Geez...she's crazy."

I ignored Ron's comment and ran straight to our common room.
"Harry?" I gasped as I entered the room.

"Hermione?" He asked concerned, "What's wrong? Why are you out of breath?"

I sucked in some air before speaking again, "I uh...I needed to tell you something. I forgot this morning."

Harry cocked an eyebrow. "Which is?"

Blimey....
"Umm...well...Luna and Neville are coming to visit." I lied.

"Really?" He smiled, "That's wonderful! You couldn't wait to tell me that after classes today?"

"Well..no. I was just too excited." I lied.

Harry chuckled and then pulled me into a long, warm hug.
"You're incredibly cute."

"It comes naturally.." I almost whispered.

"Mrs. Granger?"
Suddenly Mcgonagall was in our door way.

"Professor?" I asked.

"May I have a word with you?" She asked.
I nodded slowly, turned to Harry and then left with her.
"Mr. Wood tells me he showed you what was..outside."

"I had to make sure Harry didn't see it, professor. I know I shouldn't have left like that, but Harry had suffered some trauma. I wasn't sure if that would set him off again." I explained, "Did you take care of it?"

"We did." She nodded, "With our new Minister of course. We had help."

"Mr. Weasley was here?" I asked.

"Mr. Weasley IS here." She corrected, "He wants to see the three of you."

"Harry can't know, professor." I reminded her.

"I shall talk with Arthur before you all meet." She nodded, "Thank you Miss Granger."

And with that we parted.
I strolled back into the common room and found a very confused Harry.
"Something is up..." Harry said.

"Nothing is up." I lied.

"Hermione." Harry said in a low voice, putting a hand on my waist.

"Mr. Weasley is here...he's visiting." I told him, "I was going to make it a surprise for you and Ron."

Harry smiled lightly, "I'm sorry I'm so hard headed and want to know everything. Thank you Mione."
Harry's lips pressed to mine in a heart felt kiss before he embraced me in another hug.

What Harry doesn't know won't hurt him....
