A few days later, as I trained with Oriel, it had become clear that Oriel had a lot of combat experience under his belt. I just wondered who actually trained him to fight. He displayed several types of fighting styles, most of them focused on staying on the offensive rather than defense. This left us at a sort of stalemate in our spars when most of my fighting style consisted of staying on the defensive. As we blocked each other's strikes and tried to knock each other down, Eva was doing her own research. Oriel stopped and looked at Eva and leaned on the wall.

"So you never explained your situation with her," Oriel said as he took a small bottle of water and chugged it. "You planning to take her into your private room, or are you gonna let someone else take that responsibility?" He asked as he smirked. I rolled my eyes and took a swig of my own water bottle. "Because I will willingly take one for the team and take the burden for myself," He said, as if it was such a hard task like defusing a freaking bomb.

"You forget you're not exactly quiet, Oriel," Eva said as she looked up recent events that happened in Silver Streak, expanding her searches to outside of the city. "And there's no way I'm letting you put your hands on me in the foreseeable future." She typed something up and then stared at the screen. "That's... interesting."

"Find any of the people that were affected by Titan's compound grenades?" I asked as I walked over in a pair of flexible denim jeans and a black tank top.

"No, but I found something bigger," Eva said as she focused on the screen. "A similar event like the one that gave everyone their powers, except in another city... Kyle, it's in your hometown." I looked at the screen and walked closer.

"In... New York?" I asked as I sat down. I sighed and closed my eyes, thinking of what I had to deal with in New York. "There's... there's some people who wouldn't exactly like to see me again. My parents included." I opened my eyes and stood up. "Well... Looks like I'm going home. Let's see how much has changed since I was last there."

"You're not going alone though," Oriel said as he and Eva walked with me. "You didn't bring me into this to go off on the very next mission alone. Plus, I'd like to see how New York is."

"You're gonna need an extra set of eyes anyways," Eva told me as we walked to the warehouse door. I grabbed my robes and packed them into a bag, then I grabbed the keys to James' car. He drove a small silver Mini Cooper, but it was fast once you got it onto the open road. Oriel took the wheel while Eva sat in the back seat, and I sat in the passenger side. I pulled out a small picture of my family before everything went to shit, but I couldn't even remember a time where the whole family was happy.

The whole drive was about 6 hours long, with all three of us switching out for driver every so often. When we got into the middle of Queens, I took us to a small warehouse that I once used as my base when I first started out as a vigilante.

"Dude, what is your obsession with warehouses?" Oriel laughed as he looked at the building. "Dislike the idea of rent or something, or are you just broke?"

"I wanna say both," I said as I grabbed my bag from the back seat. "But I just feel more comfortable in a warehouse than anywhere else." I walked over to Eva and shoved her slightly to wake her up. At some point, she passed out in the back seat and laid down on the whole row. When we all entered the warehouse, I walked over to the other side and hit a switch. "Let's see if this place still works..." I said to myself as I looked around. The lights turned on and several computers came out of the walls, turning on as it happened,  and Oriel and Eva looked around in astonishment.

"How and when did you put all this together?" Eva asked as she moved to the computers and science equipment.

"Advantages of allying with two super soldiers," I replied as I put my bag on a desk, walking upstairs. I looked at the assassin insignia on the wall and sighed, then pulled it off the wall. "Won't be needing this," I said as I tossed it onto the floor.
