In the past year I lost my arms, got cybernetic augmentations, made friends with Oriel the Vampire and Eva Rose, taken on Veronnus Corps and cured almost every subject they infected with powers and kinetic abilities, and made enemies with Titan, a man who was once a respected acquaintance. The year before that, I was part of a team of four teens with extraordinary skills and powers, and we took down a tyrant who planned to destroy Silver Streak City to begin his world domination plan. And before all that? I was just some teen looking for vengeance for my family.

I found myself thinking over my entire life thus far as Oriel, Eva and I decided to take a day off to relax and act like we were regular citizens.

"Jeez, Kyle," Eva said as we walked. "You zoned out for a while there." She laughed quietly as I shook my head.

"Sorry," I said as I smiled a bit. "Just thinking on some things is all." We walked through the streets as it seemed to be a rather quiet day. I wore a pair of dark blue jeans and a blue zip up jacket over a black t-shirt to hide my metallic arms, keeping my hands in my pocket. Eva wore blue jeans and a red shirt, with a white hoodie over it as she walked beside me. Oriel was on the other side of me as he wore what he normally wore, but without the gauntlet on his hand. It seemed like nothing was wrong with the world as we all walked through the crowds on the streets of Silver Streak.

"This is how a Saturday should be spent," Oriel said as he stretched his arms. Oriel looked relaxed as he strolled through the sidewalk beside us, but I felt anxious, almost nervous about what was gonna happen. Eva had her earbuds in as we all walked down the streets, but I knew the quiet and calm tone would end soon. And that's exactly what happened when someone started to gag on the sidewalk and collapse. Everyone stopped and looked at him as he seemed to spasm out, blood dripping from his mouth, nose, and eyes. "I take back what I said earlier..." Oriel muttered as we watched the man's body stop and fall limp.

All of a sudden, we heard several people scream as they all repeated the man's actions, the same result happening. Everyone began to panic and run away, the three of us included. We rushed back to the warehouse and I immediately looked to see if I was experiencing and blood dripping.

"What the hell was that???" Oriel asked as we closed the warehouse doors and locked them. "It was such a quiet day, and then people started to drop down and bleed from their faces!"

"I don't know!" Eva shouted as she immediately looked at the monitors. "So far, there seems to be only a handful of people dropping like this. I've never seen a disease or sickness like this before." While Eva looked up what kind of disease this was, I looked at the two of them and walked over.

"While you guys are thinking this is a disease, I'm thinking we already know what it is," I said as I looked at the table with all of our equipment. "It's another subject, possibly one that can control toxic gas."

"Again?" Oriel asked as he looked at me. "Didn't you meet a toxic one when we met? Is Veronnus Corps just recycling ideas now?"

"Well if this is a subject, this is a very dangerous one," Eva said. "One that we don't exactly have the power to combat. This is a gas and a toxin, and we aren't immune to these types of things."

"Well we kinda are with the airtight armor and such," I said as I shrugged.

"Well that's you, Kyle," Eva said. "You have the armor, Oriel's vampiric respiratory system keeps him from being affected by toxins and such. But I'm vulnerable, so I won't be much help out in the field. I'll be stuck behind these monitors..."

"Well for now, let's try to find out if this is a subject or not," Oriel said as he grabbed his gauntlet. "And if it is a subject, let's cure him already." Eva nodded and quietly looked through camera feed to see what cause the victims to collapse.
