The Eagles

Lumi's POV

It's the 3rd day of our vacation! I'm really exited to see what we're going to do! Monday we went shopping and yesterday we went swimming!

I woke up to the sound of my phone buzzing at me. I turned it off and got out of the bed. I looked over at Wendy who was still sound asleep.

I smiled and got ready for the day. Once I finished changing I decided to wake Wendy up. I walked over to her and shook her a little, saying, "Wendy, wake up. It's almost time to go!"

She shifted in her sleep and slowly opened her eyes. "Good morning Lumi." She said very sleepily.

"You need to get ready! Hiroki and Romeo wanted to do something today!" I said with excitement!

The little blue haired girl slowly got out of bed while rubbing her eyes. I waited for her while she went into the bathroom to brush her teeth.

I got out my phone and texted Hiroki.

To: Hiroki Rose, hey! So what are we going to do today?

I waited for the response.

From: Hiroki Rose, I was thinking we could go play beach volleyball! There going to hold a contest! You wanna join?

Sure! Sounds like fun! Are we going to go with Wendy and Romeo?

I was planning on it.....so should we meet at your room at 7?

I looked at the clock on my phone. It read 6:30.

Sure! Sounds good! I'm room 463! Don't forget!

I know ;)

I smiled at his response. Wendy popped up in front of me and said, "I'm all ready Lumi!!"

I looked at Wendy and asked, "do you want me to do your hair?"

"Yes please!" With her words I led her to a seat in front of the mirror.

"So how would you like it done?"

"Um.......how about a big braid!"

"Alright!" I giggled.

I started to do her hair in a loose braid. When I was finished I admired my handiwork. "How's that?" I asked as Wendy turned to she could see the braid in the mirror.

"It's beautiful, Lumi!!" She exclaimed.

I looked at my phone, 6:40. "Ok well the boys will be here soon. When they knock on the door will you answer it for me?" I said taking a seat in front of the mirror.

"Sure thing Lumi!!" She said with a twirl.

I looked in the mirror and did the last thing I had to before starting the day. I too made a braid in my hair! It was a small braid on the right side of my head. It came from behind my ear and landed in front of my shoulder, letting the rest of my, platinum blonde, hair fall on my back.

"There! All ready!!" I said as I put the hair tie in it to finish it off.

Right when I said that I heard a knock on the door. Wendy went over to it and opened the door.

We were greeted by to very familiar faces, Hiroki and Romeo!

"You ready to go?" The blonde haired boy asked.

"The real question is 'are you ready to volleyball?'" I said as I got up from my seat.

Both Romeo and Wendy looked a bit confused.

We all left our room and headed over to the sand volleyball arena, where many people got in line to sign up for the tournament! We joined the line as well.

"Hey what are we going to call our team?" Romeo asked.

We all pondered on the question.

"The fantastic 4?" Hiroki suggested.

"No! Those are super heroes!!" I protested.

"Then what if we call ourselves the 3 blind mice?" Romeo said.

"That's just insulting! And there's 4 of us!" Hiroki replied.

"U-um.......how about 'The Eagles', would that work?" Wendy said quietly.

I turned to her and my eyes lit up. "That's perfect!!" I turned back to Hirkoki and Romeo. "'The Eagles' will be our name!!"

We all agreed and before we knew it we were next in line.

"Can I get the names of all 4 members and a team name?" Asked Mira the vice principal.

I nodded and gave her the information. "Wendy Marvel, Romeo Conbolt, Lumi Clauden, and Hiroki Rose. Our team name is 'The Eagles'."

Ms. Stratus smiled and said, "That's a very cute name! I hope you do well!! Oh and it seems your going to have to go against your sister's team."

My eyes widened. "W-what?! You mean Ziri?! What's there team name?!" I yelled.

"There team name is.......'The Slayers'." Ms Stratus said.

"Ok thank you." I said and walked away with the rest of my team.

"What was that about Lumi?" Hiroki asked with concern.

"Ziri's playing." Ziri was an amazing volleyball player! She could jump so high! She was strong, fast, and not to mention her spikes! One time in a game, she spiked and the ball broke on the other side. Luckily that was the last point they needed to win the game.

I was scared. I wasn't even half as good as she in volleyball. But I know why she's so good. She always wanted to be better. To prove something. To earn something. And she wanted to make dad proud of her.

"Does that mean we're gonna loose?" Wendy asked with tears in her eyes.

I snapped back into reality. Who cares if Ziri was playing! Who cares if she probably has some of the best teammates! Who cares?! I sure don't!

"No, we're gonna win! No matter what!!" I smiled and had a burning passion.

"Ok! Everyone has been sighted up! The matches will be posted in 10 minutes. They are randomly picked! Once you have lost you are out of the tournament! The matches will begin in 1 hour and 10 minutes! Good sportsmanship and a good battle! I mean.... A GOOD GAME!!!!" Ms. Stratus said on the megaphone.

I turned to my team. "You all know how to play volleyball right?" I asked. They all stared at me with wide eyes.

After we checked the bracket to see who our first opponents were I taught them all they need to know about how to play volleyball for the next hour.
