"Mum!!" Shouted Molly.
Shaking her head and whispering "It's the first day of school, your starting Hashfeild High school today! It's exciting, a big day come on sleepy head" mum pulled the covers off of Molly and walked out the room.
The Robinsons (Molly's family) had moved house over summer and Molly was moving schools. Jamie, her 11 year old brother was also starting school, but of course he was up bright and early running up and down the landing in excitement. Jamie was starting year 7, and I had been to another high school and was starting year 8.
"But mum...... I don't want to go, I don't know anyone. I'll be all on my own!" Whimpered Molly,
"You have to, you will make friends. Stop worrying!" Said mum
"But...." Sighed Molly.
"No, I will drive you and your brother up on my way to work. Now get up and put on your uniform." Said mum, enthusiastically.
* * * * * "Have to run. I will be late for work!" Shouted mum from the window as she drove away in the little blue car, puffing out cigarette smoke as she did.
I walked in to the school, Jamie ran off into the playground where most of the kids hang out before class. I felt so lonely, like a small fish in a large tank. I walked over towards a bench, which had a large group of girls and perched on the end. The group of girls all stopped their conversation and all stared at me, looked me up and down and started laughing. I immediately stood up and walked over to try and find Jamie. I could see him in the far corner of the playground stood talking with another boy. He was small, with brown hair and glasses. Jamie was particularly tall for his age and stood next to this boy he looked like a giant! How could he have made a friend in the first two minutes of being at this new school? All I had done is get laughed at.
