I stop by the newsagents on the way to the hospital and pick up Katie and I a bar of chocolate each. When I get to the hospital, it's around 2:53, I check my phone, take a deep breath and walk through the double automatic doors. I get directed up the stairs and along the corridor and when I knock on the door and get a satisfying "Hello, come in!"
As I enter a beaming smile plasters my face and it must have been contagious because Katie's face was plastered with a smile too! I hand her a chocolate bar and she hands me a pound coin. She looks so much better although she's really pale and weak. *****************************
