I wake up to the loud, clanging alarm clock, get out of bed and instantly rush over to my phone. I have no messages, emails, missed calls... Nothing. I become worried again. My mum knocks on my door and opens it slowly. She must see the fear in my eyes because she says "Is it bad news, sweetie?" Mum looks highly concerned.
"N-no, well I don't know. I've heard nothing..." I whimper. "Should I ring her?"
"No, she may be asleep, wait a little bit and then try ringing her later." She gives me a smile, and says, "Get ready yeah? We can always go by later and see if we can go visit Katie?"
"Sure." I say as mum leaves the room.

I prepare a sandwich for lunch, I sit down and turn on the tv when a message pings into my phone. I furiously root around for my phone under the mountain of pillows it reads;
Hi Molly, it's Linda. The operation failed. Katie is in loads of pain. She would love to see you, come by this afternoon? However, she will be okay. She will need further operations.. Meaning she will be away from school for loads longer. Sorry, see you later.
Linda x
I freeze, drop my phone and put down my sandwich. I start to cry... Floods of tears flow down my face, the tears fell into my lap. My mum walked in the door and ran over to hug me she asked what had happened and I just tell her to read the message.
"That's fab news!" She screamed.
"What? The operation failed, how's that fab??" I shout.
"Have you not seen the other message?" Mum replied.
"Other message, what?" I say inquisitively.
I read the message:
ONLY JOKING, it's me Katie, the operation went AMAZING!!! I will be out of hospital in 3 days, great eh? Yippee!! I was just joking in the last message. Please come by soon. Ps. Can you bring me some chocolate? Any type is great, I will give you the money when you get to the hospital. Can't wait to see you!!!! Xxx :)
I sigh in relief, and another stream of tears fly down my face, in joy! I hug mum so tight that if she was a balloon she would've popped! I jump up and down in excitement, and soon after that, I reply straight away.
Hi Katie, GREAT NEWS!!! Sure I will bring you some chocolate. Will come round about 3pm? Can't wait for you to come out the hospital! Yippeee!!! :) xxxx
