chapter eleven

After the tournament's over

Jake's POV.

I'm planning on officially telling Kate I like her. I really want us to go out but I don't know if she wants to do long distance.

Marry's POV.

I told Michael I liked him again today. Okay so and I already know he doesn't like me, but he could've had a change of heart. Now when Kate tells him he'll think of me. My plan is when she tells him he's gonna think he has hella hoes and can get any girl. Therefore he'll pick me because I'm so much better than her by a long shot.

The Monday after the tournament

Kate's POV.

The previous night after volleyball practice I got a text from Marry

Marry👭: I told Michael I liked him.

Me: omg!! When???

Marry👭: Just now. I texted him. But I know he doesn't like me. He likes you. 😉

She replied trying to spare my feelings of how he didn't like her. I was glad he didn't like her though.

Me: Come on Marry any guy would be lucky to have you. You're awesome

I lied because I know she thinks she better than me. It's not that I am I just find it disrespectful to say something like that as a friend, or at least I thought she was my friend.

Marry👭: Whatever K I got to go do my homework. Talk to you tomorrow.🤑

Marry knew I liked him and purposely told him last night. I swear she's so evil.

Crap I forgot to text Jake. Whatever he had to tell me can wait.

I stripped from my sweaty clothes and hopped in the shower. I turned on my it's lit playlist and jammed out to Kalin and Myles. After getting out the l slipped on some blue and white over sized basketball shorts and a sports bra.

Scrolling through my phone I saw a text from Jake from earlier today.

Jake❤️: Hey😇

Me: Sorry I didn't respond earlier hmu tomorrow. 💤

I locked my phone and put it on the charger. A few minutes after I drifted off to sleep.

Getting up the next morning I brushed my teeth and got dressed putting on a my red collared shirt and khaki pants.

Walking to school I saw Michael from afar chaining his bike on the rack. When he looked up he immediately spotted me staring at him. He waved and headed towards me. I collected my thoughts and tried to think of a conversation starter. All that came out was hey. We walked in the school together but were separated by the yellow rectangular sign on the door.

Boys in P.E. gym and girls in the competition gym.

Both of our heads turned facing each other in shock. We always sat together in the morning. Neither of us knew that that would end today.

I walked in the girls gym and it was dead silent. Lauren looked at me in anger because she can't sit with her boyfriend anymore.

Brandon Payne, Lauren's boo thang, is pretty dope. He plays soccer and is very good at algebra. That's probably the only reason I talk to him so much.

L: "Now I can only see him in fifth period." She groaned

K:"I thought you were going to break up with him? What now you love him again?" I asked

L: "We're just going through a rough patch. I know he loves me." She said in lust

Lauren is completely boy crazy when it comes to the opposite gender. She believes that every boy is the one, the love of her life, and as she says best bae evvver!!💞

I sat on the green tile in criss-cross applesauce thinking about if he was thinking about me.

Michael's POV.

I walked in the gym wondering where the f to sit. Then it clicked
*i have way too many female friends*

Walking over the the corner of the gym I saw Isaac and I decided to sit by him.

Isaac Ibeh plays middle school basketball, but swears he's either Stephen Curry or Kyrie Irving. He's also a snitch with many stitches.
This basketball fanatic is black, funny, but in need of braces.

I: "Man this is segregation!!" He shouted at the top of his lungs

I: "Now me and Kristina can't pull pranks on Mr. White."

M:"The man is 73. Are y'all still messing with him?"

I:"Uh duh he falls for it every time."

After I listened to Isaac ramble on about basketball for thirty minutes the bell rang for first period. On the way to Kate I ran into Brandon.

B: "Aye um Michael right?"

M:"Yeah. Aren't you Lauren's boyfriend?" I chuckled

B: "Yes. You're Kate's boyfriend right?"

M:"No I'm-" he cut me off

B:"Aight good cause I'm tryna get that." He said rubbing his hands together while simultaneously licking his lips.

B:"She fine bro." He smirked

M: "Yeah but I think she likes someone though." I said hoping that would make him back off my girl-I mean Kate.

B:"Well he better show his face then. Cause I'm getting that." He said referring to Kate.

M: "I got to get to class but I don't think you should make a move on her. You are going out with her bestfriend." I said walking to class.

He better not touch her. I knew he was a fvckboy the first day I met him. I dare him to make a move on her

I'll make a move on him real quick.
